Rat King didn't drop in Nightfall.
Fireteam and I beat the recent nightfall in 6:05 seconds. One of my teammates had quest on lady stage, like myself. He got the rat king, I didn't. We did it a few more times and nothing. Please fix this Bungie? It's not locked either. I have the video of our nightfall to show as evidence.

All your subsequent attempts would have been invalid unless your fireteam members were using the Rat King (meaning having it equipped). My guess is that you were probably dead and attempting to respawn when they finished the NF in the first attempt. Sometimes that pushes you back to the top of the Pyramidian and therefore it doesn't register you as present when the strike ends. You need to be down at the boss area when it ends. That being said, you can complete the quest quite simply. You need to make sure your quest is on the part that says 5 minutes remaining. You have to finish the NF with >5 minutes remaining, note NOT just 5 minutes > 5 minutes. Now you and your fireteam needs to go back into the strike and at least ONE of your other fireteam members needs to have the Rat King EQUIPPED in his primary slot when fighting the boss. He cannot change ANY weapons out at the end.

Anyway, while I don't know why you were not awarded the Rat King on your first try, on the subsequent tries, your friend(s) no longer had the quest step. And if they did not have the Rat King equipped at the time boss was killed, no Rat King quest completion for you. The requirements are: 1. Complete the NF with at least 5 minutes left on the clock, 2. One other team member needs to either have the same quest step as you (NF step) [b]OR[/b] they need to have the Rat King equipped at the time of NF boss dies.
