Edited by Swiftlock: 11/1/2017 6:00:21 PMJoshua Tree National Park over here in Southern California is fantastic if you don't mind the desert. Been camping out there a couple times myself with college friends. Plenty of trails to cut your teeth on and lots of fauna to see. You might even spot a ram or two up in the hills. The big draw though is the beautiful view of the planets and stars at night. It's a hot spot for astrophotographers and anyone with a remote interest in space. Bring a telescope!

Washington state has a lot of good places. I also wouldn't be a very good Minnesotan if I didn't throw the boundry waters out there.

Colt doesn’t understand why you would ask #Offtopic for outdoors advice?? Who do you think we are?

Appalachian Trail, Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. Nice time of year for hiking and camping in PA and NY. The leaves are turning and the lower temps and dryer conditions make it less buggy. There are a lot of historical spots too.

If you hear banjo music it's just the local friendly hill folks coming to greet you and make sure you have a good old time, i recommend you and your friends watch Deliverance before going camping it'll help you learn how things are in the great outdoors.

Edited by RandyDaGod: 10/24/2017 1:53:15 AMA buddy of mines family own 400+ acres in no where Kansas with a couple ponds on it. We usually go there. Been to Co to camp in the winter park area and it was pretty fun. Devils Tramping Grounds if you have the balls. Folklore or not I'll never go there.

Taylor park in Colorado. It's a lake located in the Rockies around Salida and Aspen. There's abandoned mines that you can explore as well as good fishing high in the mountains

Me and my friends are gonna get an RV after we finish school this year and drive from California to Texas and hang out with some kids we met on Xbox years ago.

Look at Idaho, more than 40 percent of their state is national Forest.

I've never heard of it, is it on Steam?

I actually went camping this weekend. And no it wasn’t the camping you’re talking about, we brought guns and shot them. Four-wheelers etc. A crap ton of junk food and a few fireworks for the heck of it.

I usually just go to state parks. Turkey Run is one of my favorites
-
But there is a giant ball of fire out there.

The Great Outdoors, never heard of that spill card. What are its abilities?

I'm not sure anyone on offtopic has seen the light of day, except for the few meager rays that manage to penetrate the weathered iceblock windows in Mom's basement...

Just went fishing with my friends for my one friends birthday, all the fish I caught self-imploded because their swim bladders blew up since the pressure changed to fast :( but I had a great time with my buddies and they caught some edible fish

I don't know where you live but October is pretty cold for camping.

Avon make a cream called skin so soft Apply it all over your face and you won’t get bitten by midges.

If ya'll are new to this, then I recommend a state park & registering your plans with the park ranger. Are you wanting a river near it, a lake, to rent a cabin, backpacking, etc? Give some details, might be able to give a good location.

Nice movie. Probably sure not many have seen it. Probably been 20 years since i watched it.

Edited by OldboyVicious: 10/23/2017 3:26:49 AMJust watch The Great Outdoors, with John Candy and Eugene Levy. But seriously, when I was a kid, we used to take a yearly trip to Muskoka lake on Canada. It was good times with cabins and lakes. More of a cabin resort than truly roughing it, bit not luxury or anything like that. Edit: just looked into it for nostalgia sake. Muskoka went full on lake resort. Sad.
