TRAITOR Subclasses (revamped for D2) - WARLOCK

OK, here's the second one. You are still a Guardian, loyal to the City from now until the day of your final death. However, you begin to see that while the Traveler has awoken, its enemies are lurking out in the interstellar abyss, threatening to overwhelm it before it finds its strength. The Guardians' abilities alone will not be enough to stop the second and last assault of the Darkness. There are secrets known only to the Vex, the Cabal, and the Fallen that could turn the tide. It's just a matter of uncovering them. Behold... the Traitor subclasses. Each Traitor subclass has its own questline, initiated by the Vanguard and directed by an in-game NPC already featured in Destiny 1, but either completly unseen or not a regular fixture in D2. Once the Traitor quest is completed, the Guardian will be directed to seek out the Shard once again. Reaching said shard will activate the new subclass with Boundless Light enabled, allowing the player to gain the ins and outs of their latest set of abilities, especially their unique Super. Completion of it will unlock the subclass proper, and allow the usual choice between the two four-perk skill trees. You will then be offered some challenges. Completion of the challenges will yield the following: First set: A subclass emblem, including kill count. Second set: An exotic weapon previously featured in Destiny 1. Third set: A unique exotic sparrow, exclusive to your class. Traitor subclasses use the same element as an already existing subclass, but they harness the light in a very different way, a way triggered by how creatures of a different species understand the light. Regardless, their "diamond" icon in the subclass selection part of the menu is bright red, to distinguish it both from existing subs and the black "Lost Light" icon. Name: Quisling, Warlock Subclass Element: Void Assoc. Enemy: Vex Description: A warlock is a warrior, but he is also a scholar, Like any good scholar, you are on an endless journey of learning and discovery. Like any good Guardian, you want nothing more than to find new ways to push back the armies of the Dark that are arrayed against humanity and its slowly recovering patron. The Vex are the reigning masters at reshaping the very fabric of reality to their advantage. Your quest is to put that fearsome knowledge to work for yourself: knowledge is power, after all. Nature of the Quest: Ikora tells her warlocks that Eris Morn has resurfaced and directs them to go and make contact with her on Titan. When they do, Eris explains what happened: in the chaos after the invasion, she secured a ship belonging to a Guardian who died their final death after the light was taken, and escaped the Cabal in it. She has made her way to Titan in response to the Hive plague there, hoping to advise Sloane on ways to fight her longtime enemy. She reveals that she was previously on Mars, where her Hive-enhanced powers of perception allowed her to find a strange Vex artifact, and she dispatches the Guardian to investigate it. The quest leads them to a Crucible area on Nessus, and a meeting with the Inquisitorial Mind, a Vex mind that believes it has some close to gaining the ability to understand the power of light. The Mind imprisons the Guardian and forces him/her to aid it in its endeavors by fighting Vex drones. When a certain number of Vex have been kiled by light-based attacks, the Mind then tried to analyze what it has seen. Tragically, the Mind is ultimately unable to understand the light, and is ripped apart from within the paradoxes that the attempt generates. Despite this, out of gratitude for his/her assistance, it allows the Guardian to tap into its knowledge and gain a new understanding of how the Vex can reshape time and space. Bolstered by both their intimate knowledge of the light and their new body of knowledge, the Guardian discovers a whole new way to utilize the Traveler's gift. Melee: Spatial Twist. 65% chance of increased damage (+20%,96 in PvP), 30% of severe damage (+60%, 128), 5% of extreme damage (+200%, 240). Note that this means a 30% chance of a two-hit Guardian kill in PvP, and a 5% chance of a one-hit kill. Grenades: Voidwall, Scatter, and Vortex grenades, function normally. Super: Hyper Vortex. Similar to Nova Bomb in deployment, but produces a massive, all-devouring vortex at point of impact. Attunement of Matter (1) Grenades recharge significantly faster. (2) Kinetic weapons cause a slightly increased flinch, upon landing precision hits. (3) Player can carry much more energy weapon ammo. (4) Successive hits with heavy weapons do increasing damage, about 4% per hit. Attunement of Energy (1) Just Reach Out, melee range is increased, and player will automatically respawn with melee energy. (2) Rejuvenation, allies near rift gain a brief overshield, in addition to other perks. (3) Twist the Odds, 50%/42%/8% chances for various damage increases. (4) Repetition, you can produce two slightly weaker and shorter-lived vortexes. Tier 2 Reward: Vex Mythoclast. A high impact energy weapon. Tier 3 Reward: Darkstorm Sparrow. Has a mounted void cannon equivalent in power and fire rate to a void sidearm, but with far more ammo reserves.
