Really thinking about trying this. Anyone play it? I've never tackled an RPG this deep (Skyrim probably closest thing). Would love thoughts and advice.

I just need a Mac port so I can get it to run on my laptop. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but in the meantime I'll have to make do.

Everything about the game is great, the only thing that bothers me is the art style. It looks so uninspired and dull, it reminds me of those shitty click-bait rpg games

I posted already, but there is multiplayer up to 4 people, so if you do end up getting it, feel free to hit me up.

It's Dungeons and Dragons the video game. That is not even a mild exaggeration, there is literally a mode where you can design your own adventure as its game master. If Skyrim is all you've ever gotten into, I'm not sure you would like it: it's a very overwhelming game at first and if you don't grasp the basics of it quickly, you're gonna have a bad time. It's one of those true and pure RPGs Morrowind purists like so much.

Edited by Ox-_Azza-_xO: 10/23/2017 8:44:24 PMI bought it thinking i would enjoy it considering iv always enjoyed my final fantasy's ( the good ones 6-10) and skyrim like yourself. Turns out I was a bit more overwhelming than I expected (-_-) Its a very differrnt type of game compared to the examples iv given anyway. First of all you are given the choice of character. Do you use a pre-set or create your own? Now your abilities, now back story which all effects gameplay. After the steps above you awake on a ship and.....the rest is up to you to figure out and considering I never played the previous i was a bit lost with what source is and even some of the mechanics. I could write a whole review but to put it simply. If you haven't played the previous divinity you will need to invest a decent amount of time to learn about the world and mechanics of the game and if you're expecting a skyrim'esk type of experience then you will be disappointing with this game. Not saying this game is bad as its quite obviously very deep and its obvious that the devs have put a lot of love and effort into it.

Nothing like Skyrim. It's probably the most complex CRPG I've played, and it's really, really fun. Gonna try and make it one of my board game nights.

I tried getting into it, but it's so complex and slow I just couldn't for some reason. You're definitely going to need to take your time with it. A lot of people love it though

Divinity 2 is definitely worth the $45 I paid for it. I just left the starting area and I have 30 hours into the game already. The combat is turn-based, which I usually don't like, but I'm in love with the combat in this game. Every single fight you win feels so rewarding and if you don't strategize correctly, one of the people in your party could get killed by even the weakest enemy. The story is also very good so far and every time I quit the game I'm always left wanting to know more. Exploration is extremely rewarding, making you want to explore every corner of the map (you'll also run into very powerful enemies if you're not careful, so make sure you quicksave often). You have a wide variety of characters that you can recruit that all have their own interesting stories (you can also play as one of these characters if you want to play as someone with an interesting backstory). Also keep in mind that, like all great games, there is a pretty big learning curve. I'm 30 hours in and still learning about basic game mechanics. That's pretty much all I can think of to say about the game, so if you have any questions that I didn't answer, I'll try and answer them.
