1000 hours in D1 and loved it. Started right before TTK. But now I’ve sold my PS4 and can’t play anymore.
Pre-ordered D2 but then retuned it after running the story mission (good) and strike (boring) once each. Game play felt slow and tedious compared to D1.
Now, it’s been a few Destiny free months and I’m itching to get back in. But the reviews are just so bad. Any advice?

Wait for a sale or wait for DLC to change some things up. Right now Destiny 2 is only fun if you play casually once a week or so. There isn't much point in playing every day like there was in Destiny 1. I don't think I have played in almost a month. Better FPS and higher texture resolution won't make the game better for long term playing. It will be fine if you plan on playing 2 or 3 other games as well not just Destiny 2, you on't get bored that way.

Save your money dude. It's fun for a couple weeks, then the new car smell disappears...in a hurry.

Don't buy it. I'm willing to bet it'll just disappoint you. I have some hardcore PvP friends who were looking forward to the 60fps just for PvP but the game in general is just so boring and stale that it won't make it any better. Even if you're a causal player, you'll most likely be disappointed as well.
