Why does Bungie think that dropping a random armour piece for a Milestone is a good idea?

I've been grinding Milestones in order to try to get to Power Level 305. My main (Hunter) was stuck at 304 for 3 weeks, because I kept dropping 305 Cloaks. Why does Bungie think I need 4-5 different 305 cloaks, while I still don't have a 305 helmet or arms? Why do I have to "Win the lottery" for my Milestones to matter. Now I don't necessarily want to pick, but that would be really nice. How about a rotation; Helmet, Arms, Chest, Legs, Class, Helmet, Arms,... What? That would be too easy, you would know exactly how many Milestone you would need to level up. People would stop playing if anyone could do it, this way we only let the "lucky" ones get to 305 light. The rest of you obviously aren't good enough. The first Milestone I dropped a 305 Cloak I was happy. "Yes, one step closer to 305". Second Milestone that week and second Cloak, "Bummer". Third Milestone and third Cloak, "This is just stupid, why am I playing this F***ng game!" This is not a good user experience to have. If you could Infuse across class it would not be so bad. My Warlock and Titan both need class items, but as it is I can't even do that. I'm not so concerned about Weapons, I have a lot of those, but it would be nice to NOT got a Sidearm or Granade Launcher from time to time. I play a game called Settlers of Catan, where you roll 2 six sided dice for resources. This is random, but doesn't always lead to a even distribution of resources. In a variant you change the dice for 36 cards numbered 2 through 12, the number of each card corresponding with the number of times, the face value appears in the 36 possible dice throw results. eg. one 2 and 12, two x 3 and 11, three x 4 and 10,... Shuffle the cards and draw the top one. Also random, but always leads to an even distribution if all 36 cards are drawn.

 • I had to stop playing settlers of catan. Some jerk wouldn't stop trying to create a futures market, some other jerk was trying to invent a catan mortgage for his town on a #12 resource, some other jerk insists on playing by the actual rules, and suddenly the game was permanently ruined for me.
