Story: So the Story is the most obvious upgrade. As a core vanilla chapter 1, the story was great. This is clearly the main goal of what Bungie was focused on. I'm sure we can agree. Although, I have to say, Ghaul was a panzee. He was a good antagonist...through cinematics. But when you get to the endgame, he is super easy to beat. I think he would have been more of a threat if we got to fight him midgame, then he flees once beaten, then presents himself at the end game with his stolen Traveler light. And he should have been way harder with his new power. Why does he need an endless wave of minions to fight us if he has 'Become Legend?' 1. Gary was a lame fight 2. Opening fight was great....but that's all the Vanguard ever does that's cool 3. Farm became irrelevant... 4. DLC advertising in the vanilla box (again guys? f u, pay me money?) 5. No NCP's actually do anything (in-game, excluding intro) 6. Shaxx made you do all the work (but he opened a door ;)) 7. Master and apprentice reveal (Star Wars anyone) 8. You lose the light and reclaim it IMMEDIATELY! (This was your whole campaign speech guys!) PvP: This is where it gets downgraded for me, and maybe others. There's got to be a reason for us to want to play Destiny's PVP over Call of Duty, Battlefield, Titanfall or Battlefront. But they are all the same. There is no motivation, nothing, that makes me want to play it. Destiny should be unique. Have its own style. Besides the superpowers, this game has nothing unique. Bungie took out game modes like Rift, and for what? No offense to other opinions but Supremacy is boring and it's just Call of Duty kill confirmed with superpowers. This is supposed to be a futuristic 'Space Magic' game and all it is, is Call of Duty. There's absolutely no creative PVP team-based games. It's always the same game types and it's dull. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this. You can only play bomb the base, kill confirmed, control, and survival, for so long. Can nobody figure out a new game type to keep PVP interesting that allows you to work with your team AND works with Destiny's Universe theme, rather than just go Rambo? The Halo Community back in the day we're incredibly creative in the Forge. They're the reason the zombie mode became a thing. Then Bungie took it over.... Heck even a sticky bomb dodgeball was invented and that was incredibly fun. Grifball was awesome too. 1. People who want to use snipers now have to wait for heavy ammo and when it does drop, you get a couple shots. 2. No big maps 3. No Sparrow use 4. No new game types 5. Single Iron Banner game type monotony 6. No Heavy Machine guns 7. Maps too linear 8. No environmental activity for traps or even explosive barrels to improve fun 9. Bottom list players can still get better loot than top player (sigh) Worlds: Apart from Titan and the EDZ, the world's were ok at best. Cool ideas, with rich lore behind them, but the only time you get lore is through minor missions and scanables. The worlds are fun to explore and the map system is a big improvement with the fast travel system. Strikes are very interesting with the different dialogue playing it multiple times. But... 1. Loot is boring (tokens?) 2. No weather effects (2017 guys) 3. No NPC interaction other than claiming rewards 4. Caydes bounties are boring, they tell you exactly where to find them. (Write a hint down like the Rat king quest, make people think) 5. Endgame Sparrows (really? midgame guys, come on) 6. No in-game Grimoire (IT'S STILL OUT OF GAME! Wiki) 7. Scanables aren't recordable 8. No collectables (dead Ghosts were awesome finds!) Destiny Combat: The combat in Destiny has always been the pinnacle of its success, no doubt. It's why it's addictive. But, it hasn't evolved much. The enemies however have...a bit. The enemies have changed their combat strats and made PvE a bit more interesting. But it would be nice if they adapted to your combat much like dark souls. The bosses have unique strats to take them down which is a nice change of pace. But... 1. No customizable subclasses (premade) 2. No new Class (Ponchos anyone?) 3. No new weapons (exept nade launchers. Iron Lord Battleaxes?) 4. Enemies are not adaptable (Dark Souls anyone?) 5. No changes in Lvl cap and light lvl 6. Same/or worse? Storage options 7. Shader system (literally screaming right now. Not really...but seriously) For me this game is no different than D1 and it is very sad that the story was the only thing they worked on. Tell me what you think. Agree/disagree? It's a debate, don't get Salty.
