So let me start this out by saying, I am one of the guys that wants random perk rolls back. To me that’s a big part of what makes destiny and mmo and enjoyable grind, the loot search for that perfect roll. Enough of my opinion, now would like to throw out 1 possible option to improve the current static weapon/armor system. So currently equip-able mods don’t have a lot of value, especially with weapons, change damage type, add power level. Kinda unimpressive if you ask me. So my thought, seriously expand the weapon mod table, make it so you can only equip certain mods on certain weapon types. Just a quick list of possible weapon mods (using D1 perk terminology just for sake of explanation) -full auto -perfect balance -braced frame -firefly -casket mag -etc Have perks carry a certain tier and weight. Full auto on pulse rifle will carry a higher cost then say casket mag (cost will play more as I explain more) Now lets really expand things. Larger assortment of viable and exciting mods for weapons and armor. And even better, why not different tiers of the weapons that have a much lower chance of dropping. Example: Nightshade number 1 drops as a normal legendary. It comes with all its static perks and 1 weapon mod slot. Nightshade number 2 drops at a 1% drop rate but is a tier higher weapon. Lets call it a “power” legendary for sake of explanation. It drops with 2 mod slots along with its static perks, but to use the second mod slot you have to remove a static perk tree and have to be at a certain power level to equip a second mod slot. Then expand into exotic perks that have a larger impact with mod slot cost. Make raid and trials weapons an armor always drop with 2 slots. Add mods that can only be obtained from raids, or trials or Iron banner Etc. Allow static perks to be re-rolled by the gunsmith by obtaining certain things…….just all ideas………a lot of things can be done, and for the people that like the current setup…….there is always room for improvement. again these are just examples of possibilities and not saying everything is word for word but feel like it’s a solid upgrade to the current system Before going more into this just want to throw it out to the community to see how the idea is received. So what do you all think?
