Can we have weapon balance? It's doing a lot more than making a meta.

I think it's clear that the best weapons are certain scout rifles, and accurate autos. Accurate weapons in general. In D1, accurate, ranged primaries were necessary to have something strong enough to counter specials. Now that there's no specials, anything with low accuracy is immediately scrapped. Chances are if something doesn't have the vertical recoil pattern perk or it doesn't have near maxed out stability, it's going to be scrapped for pvp. That's not balanced. Just like in D1, anything outside of those traits was scrapped. Since the only thing we have to use is long ranged accurate weapons, people are forced to camp. I know that creates team work, and that's great. But being forced to team shot at long distances should not be the only way to play pvp. Some of the greatest shooters of all time was Halo 3, CoD BO2, and Overwatch. What made these games so good is that you could do what you wanted. Team work was an option, and it was very helpful, but it wasn't forced on players. That said, having to discern whether to play offensively or defensively was always a question to have. A skill in discerning what's better for your situation. Your answer will depend on what map you're playing, what gun you have vs what the enemy has, and so on. That skill isn't here in D2. You don't have to be team shotting to be using team work. Allowing offensive gameplay will allow for coordinated (and successful if done right) flanks. Coming in at the enemy from multiple angles can be considered team work. Being at close range opens opportunities to play creatively. More creatively than getting an accurate gun and team shotting. Even if you don't agree on what I said on team work and how skill can be linked to discernment on play style, the fact that long range and accurate weapons are always the best choice... is a fact. That can't be argued. I think making the precision hurtbox on Gaurdians bigger would be a good decision since it's so easy to get precision shots with meta weapons right now. That with making anything that's inaccurate stronger. That way, we can see some diversity in weapon choice and play style.

  • I think part of this issue in D2 is that all guns now have fixed perks. You won't find a random gun that has base stats and the perks that make it your "perfect" gun. Now that the number of available weapons are more finite there are going to be more immediately trashed.
