How far do you think Bungie will take "Destroyable invirorments"?

I'm pretty sure it won't be like destroying entire houses and such, but how far do you think they'll take it?

 • Red Faction 2 wasnt too bad, infact i enjoyed it. Apparently the first one was worse. I hope that say if there is a group of Covenant holed up inside a bunker or whatever you will be able to blow away their cover with a rocket or grenade. Possibly on some area you could utilize "explosive entrys" where you could blow a hole in the wall and bypass defense.

 • I think that you probably will be able to destroy trees, maybe houses, possibly incinerate covenant vehicles, i don't know, i just hope it's not too real. For some reason, i just want to get away from reality as much as possible. Test out the real effects by making another game, other than risking halo 2 or 3 for it.

 • I am not sure if that is those types of holes created by shots and leading to outside light but it is a possibility.

 • Well the holes have clumps of rock falling out. It looks like they were made.

 • I don't think that those are bullet holes but I'm not sure, they could be.

 • I want them to take destructible environments as far as they need to take it in order for the game to be good. In the new screenshots there appears to be bullet holes in the wall with light shining through which hints at possible destruction.

 • you can probably destoy everything to a certain degree but not everything will explode when you shoot it, like the cars did.

 • I think it will be semi destructable, like everything they have described so far ,such as windows shattering(I don't think that counts for the vehicles.), Pillars being crushed and the like. Nothing to outrageous. [Edited on 4/13/2004 5:18:12 PM]

 • I think it will go to putting small holes in walls with the rocket launcher, but not blowing walls down so you can skip half the level.

 • How bad was it in Red Faction 2?

 • Probably so far that if you shoot the ground enough times, you'll blow a hole right through to the other side of the Ring or the planet.

 • I think it'll probably be pretty minor implementation...things that would normaly be able to be moved or destroyed can be....that is objects that aren't the 'walls' to a level. We'll see.

 • They will probably let you blow up some items but not to the extent Red Faction does with the geo-mod.

 • As far as they can without getting ridiculous (i.e. Red Faction 2).

 • judging from the E3 video, which is probably inaccurate and shouldn't be done, they haven't implimented it as far as I'd like to see it go back anything is better them nothing.
