SBMM is fake! (Read to understand)

I have been playing trials for hours, and always get paired up against the sweatiest, most no life Crucible players in existence. I thought that SBMM would pair me up with players of EQUAL skill, because, frankly, I’m not great. If it was true SBMM, then it’d be real tough matches against equal skill. I want the chance to go flawless myself, without being carried, by playing people who I can beat, yet could also beat me. It needs to be even. And I don’t want to wait -blam!-ing 2.7 years before I’m *good* enough to do so under the current circumstances, so don’t you no-lifing fags come here saying “get good” n shit, cause I may not be great, but I’m good and can hold my own against people of equal, or even slightly greater skill. If you agree, upvote or whatever. I just want this read by people who will do shit about it. #MakeTrialsEqual P.S. Add Guided Games to trials Bungie.

    • I have been saying it for years no one listens. Don't play trials. Look at all the replies "average players aren't meant to win trials" "you just aren't good enough" if that's the case don't play. You still won't make it to the light house and you won't be fodder for those "elite teams" let all the sweaty players play each other.

      • Ran about ten matches Friday night. First match enemy team all with flawless emblems. 2 of my team have never ran trials at all...ever. After that stomping we backed out. I switched fire team lead to one of the new guys. Figured sbmm might kick in and match us up with a opponent closer to his skill level. Wrong! 4 more flawless emblems and another stomping. By this time one of the new guys bails and says he won't ever play trials again. Cool no big deal we add another and try again. We get matched with the first team we played against and got stomped on our first match while they went flawless. How did we even get matched together? Our first match and they're on their last? It's worse than d1 was.

I have always said trials should use an upward moving sbmm. First 3 games going ahainst evenly matched teams. You have to play to your skill level and come out on top 3 games in a row. Games 4 and 5 you play teams that average a small amount better than you. You must push yourself to outplay two teams in a row who on average are a bit better than you. Games 6 and 7 you have to go all out and push your limits to beat two teams who are a fair bit better than you. Sadly I'm not sure this is even feasible in D2's sorry excuse for PvP.

I've concluded that quickplay is heavily skill based, competitive is much less skill based and trials is ZERO % skill based. Bungie needs to revamp matchmaking to be like overwatch, have sbmm strict until it compromises connection and have BIG differences in XP/loot depending on your "skill rating". I've got 100+ games played, 2.0 kd (not "efficiency"), and I'm like 40-3 in trials so I'm not another scrub condemning the "broken" matchmaking. I'm solely just offering bungie the obvious matchmaking system they need to have that will appeal to EVERYBODY throughout the skill spectrum.

            • Sbmm isn't supposed to be in Trials. Sbmm flaws testing in people's skill. Why should someone go flawless when there's a whole branch of other people that are way better? Trials is supposed to be the most competitive environment in Destiny. That said, there will be some people that can't compete.

I think Trials should use SBMM for first few games. Then make it random. I do not hate Trials but overall not having fun playing it. Even when we win, not really enjoying it. Most are just doing for the assault rifle, but frankly, I might give up on that. Trials will never progress to competitive, esports status because it is to punitive to the majority of the player base. That is, good teams get flawless and just plays it over and over again destroying less experiencedd teams. Others will only watch competitive play if they had some enjoyment or emotional stake in it. As of now, 90% try and never do it again. Like I wrote, I do not hate Trials.

Unfortunately you're playing trials, I imagine the majority of pvp players in there are going to be your top guns, and generally a team who are working together. I'd love to see the data, I wonder where all the players rank who play trials vs reg crucible and I there is players across all tiers in there.

                • Trials doesn’t have SBMM. The regular Competitive playlist does but Trials does not.

                  • It's intended to be random. You may get your hardest match first or last.

                  • Try queuing at different times of day if you can. Primetime hours on the weekend are always sweaty. (Just played a group with the win tracker emblem... they all had over 50 wins and one over 100)

Trials is connection based. Skill and card wins have nothing to do with matchmaking in it.
