Why the Heck are there loot cooldowns?!
I really thought this was a bug at first but then i looked on here and found out that Bungie literally put a cooldown on the loot you get. It doesn't even take much to activate the cooldown. I literally just turned it on, got a treasure map form cayde and went to titan to get it but because i killed one high value target and looted the chest he dropped i got literally nothing from cayde's chest. i couldn't even get any alkane spores. I mean i'd understand it if there was some bullshit farming method that became popular so they put in a cooldown so if you are getting too much loot in a short time it makes you wait a while, but i'm literally just casually playing the game, doing things they intended for me to do. In a game that has a high emphasis on end-game grinding you CANT punish players for freaking grinding.

Bungie didn't want you to get all the loot in one sitting. They want you to get the chest and talk to your friends about their rewards before proceeding to the next chest. It all makes sense once you take into consideration the frendgame content.

This loot lockout BS has to be one of the most idiotic things ever implemented in this game. On top of that we have ghosts and scout reports that detect boxes and for what exactly if we can’t pick up loot? This company is so moronic... They gave very little thought to the creation of this game. Only thing they know how to do is take $ from the ppl that still have hope that this game can become somewhat decent. Good job Bungie on your garbage choices.

6 RepliesIt's not a cooldown, it's a bug. Earlier this week I came home from work and started playing on a new character class. I got up to the mission where you're on the EDZ and Devrim directs you to loot a regional chest as the MISSION OBJECTIVE. I had not looted any chests on this character. When I looted that one, it gave me NOTHING. No glimmer, token, nothing. Proof that this is a bug and not a loot farming cooldown. Why would they sell consumables that show you where loot caches are if they had a cooldown for looting the chests? Just an annoying bug that they need to fix soon.

1 ReplyIf you want to see the limit in action, do a public event and also kill a target. Pick up the chest from the target and then go get your reward from the PE. Bet you get nothing but a token from the PE. I think the limit is around 3 minutes or so, as best I can tell.

1 ReplyI honestly think it's a bug in the net code and not a cool down timer. Here is why I think that. I have had the issue were I received nothing from a chest a couple of times. Were I open a chest and nothing so i try again and wait a moment, then all my loot drops. It seems to be a packet loss issue between me and the server. This has happened on everything from public events, boss, regional chest, and world chests. I also have a good internet correct so it has to be something with the net code or something on bungie's end

I nust ignore planetary materials at this point be ause i can only get 10 chests or materials, and chests give tokens for more rep. Literally more efficient to skip loot. Wtf bungie. Give us our casual grind back.

Here's my only real concern about it. Why would you make a consumable that shows us where chests are if you're just going to lock us out of them after a few are opened? -

This week I logged on, cleared my mailbox, and got Cayde's maps. The first chest I opened (AT ALL) was Cayde's stash chest. Nothing. I figure "ok no problem it probably had like a ghost and my inventory was full" So I went back to the Tower. Nothing. So... I'm thinking it's just a bug and not a delay. Since I didn't open any other chests that day (PE, Strike, etc.) edit-for-clarity: I checked the PO after returning to the Tower. And nothing there. I assumed it was going "there" when people stated it was empty. but nope.

11 RepliesBungie fun officer here. Your all having too much fun on these planets, collecting your virtual items that have no impact on anything what so ever. So we’ve implemented a timer to stop this heinous infraction on fun. Stop collection stuff in our game that’s about collecting stuff. Any more of this and we’ll cut out weapons from the game, then it’s controls after that if you carry on.

26 RepliesI know how exactly how you feel, but it's even worse when you think about it , let me explain. The outside world looks down on Videogaming, like it's not a legitimate activity a human should be doing. But if Videogaming is a "lowly" activity. So what's worse than that? Grinding. Grinding is a Videogaming activity that the player doesn't particularly enjoy but it's the only way to get the results you want. So basically it's a lowlife activity inside a lowly activity. But there's even worse. Farming. Farming doesn't get you good loot, it just gets you materials. Farming is Grinding's lil bitch brother in a family of losers. And yes - there's even worse. Empty farming chests, is the "FML" moment of Videogaming! And that is the moment we question our time usage.
