Shoulder/Hammer/Shield Charge is pathetic

I'm sorry? But no, it is pathetic, I run for about 5 seconds, hit an enemy and they aren't dead! Then I hit again! Still not dead, oh great, the person landed every shot of his gun on my head, while I was slowly, slowly, slowly trying to ready my fist for the third time. - Bungie, buff the charge so I can atleast finish the enemy off with a punch afterwards, otherwise? Shoulder charge is a more pathetic, weaker, slower version of a normal punch, and if not, puts me at risk/more situations than a regular spam punch. - Buff it.

    Yes. I made a post on this one or two days ago. It is totally useless as it stands unless you sneak up behind someone, which isn't exactly useful with path of the aggressor on sentinel. Especially since the animation is longer than a normal melee and does no extra damage, but requires sprint

    • Here's the problem. If they would have made it on no cooldown like D1 but not insta kill, it would've been good. Or if it would've been a one shot but on a cooldown like D2, it would be good, but a one use for a certain number of seconds. But both together completely ruin the ability.

        In Bungie's everlasting quest for Crucible balance and appeasing the tryhards that think the only skillful way to kill an opponent is with a primary that begins with the word MIDA, they thought making melees suck across the board was fair for everyone. So a Titan that earns his/her keep by throwing haymakers and their entire body into the enemy is going to deal the same amount of damage as a featherweight and welterweight but taking considerable risk to do equal damage. The risk just isn't worth it anymore. Bungie addressed balance by limiting ability spam. I don't think anyone can disagree with that move. But if Bungie is going to limit it then why also limit the effectiveness of melee? That's what is unreasonable. I'm not going to risk a shoulder charge if I can't OHK, so they just made that melee aspect irrelevant to pvp. It's a pve perk now and one that I can only use every 20 seconds. They didn't even add a mechanic to cool down faster within the skill tree.

      • It's long overdue that Titans learn some gunplay. Nobody was impressed with how they'd cruise around the map in D1 with their skating, and one-hit-kill shoulder charging everybody with no risk of being killed. Words cannot describe how good it felt today when I was firing at a charging Titan who shouldered me, didn't even break my shield, and I finished him with a melee. THAT is precisely how such an exchange should play out. Thank you for balancing Titans, Bungie.

          • If a Titan's shoulder charge can 1-Hit kill then so should a hunter's Explosive Throwing knife if they hit the precision shot. This is coming from a Titan Main in BOTH Destiny games.

            • As a person that played Titan religiously, I’ll admit shoulder charge was over powered. They just balanced the game to make it fair for everyone else. Remember hunters are hella underpowered.

                • With my Titan i always need to punch a warlock 3 times including the special bash whilst they bump me twice with a stupid flat Palm and im dead. Fking bs. Its the little things in pvp like this that piss me off

                  • I was always fine with the idea of it going on cooldown after a kill, but since it's no longer a OHK, leaving it active like in D1 would be alright.

                  • I'm a Titan all the way. The shoulder charge is fine. Don't get me wrong, I love it strong (like classic D1)but it's more of a supplemental move not a main weapon.

                  • LOL. I know, it's a joke. Too many of the fragile PvP snowflakes complained about it in D1, so Bungie had bail them out.......yet again. Makes me glad I'm not a ultra-competitive PvP player. I would probably be having some self esteem issues at the fact that I would constantly need Bungie to bail me out over and over and over again so I could do well in PvP.

                      • There's no one hit KO strategies in Destiny 2. Destiny 1 everyone was overpowered, but people complained and now sticky grenades don't kill in one hit. Deal with it.

                            • This ability is why I don't like Titan. Even if they don't boost it's ability to kill (although it needs a little buff love), the melee ability shouldn't be charge-specific. By that I mean it should be a "typical" melee ability without sprinting, and be a more powerful ability (reward) if you take the [i]risk[/i] of sprinting headlong at your enemy. And why does every subclass have to have it?

                                I don't mind seeing a buff to all guardians abilities because hell we know almost everything in this game needs one. People would only disagree with this because nobody wants to see that shit one hit like it did in D1 and we especially don't want to see people using it over and over again just to get kills.

                                • Bungie said it takes three Melees to kill a guardian. But I have NO IDEA what you're talking about. I have always been able to charge-punch and they are dead.
