Mida isn't the problem

Don't get to worked up over mida this week. It's a good gun, and excels at long range. In case you didn't notice, this is a LONG RANGE map. Mida doesn't work that well in close quarters and if we get a closer map I guarantee that mida won't be a problem. No nerfs required, just an understanding that scout rifles are good on long range maps, and that this is a Long range map. Edit: some people seem to be missing this point as well, lot of people don't good have good scouts besides mida yet. The game hasn't been out for long and mida is basically given to everyone. Once people get more long range weapons, it's use will go down

Yes it is, because it excels at virtually every range but point-blank close range. Even then, it has always-active radar that tells you when someone is near so you don't get outplayed by anybody that tries to counter you. Tl:dr - Mida is good at every range, and tells you when to switch weapons. Even on "close range" maps outside of trials it's spammed relentlessly.

    • Mida and Mini is the crutchiest loadout in the Crucible. Try playing against a full team using it while you're solo. If you don't switch to it you'll get owned. But you're essentially right, the problem is the weapon changes have made it painfully one-dimensional. Snipers and shotties are weak even if you get ammo and abilities recharge is essentially fixed at a trickle. Compared to D1 it's about as exciting as weeding the garden.

    • I call nonsense. Mida is good at almost any range Except close. On top of that it has the best perks on a weapon. Idk why they chose to bring back this broken weapon, but it looks like they needed their T for teen audience to keep their crutches

The gun had always been great, and is fun to use. The problem is that it does not actually perform liked it it's supposed to based on specifications. I don't think that it should be nerfed into the ground, but at least adjusted to actually perform how it should. If the issues with wanted bullets and being killed around corners is from Target acquisition, then adjust it. Add actual flinch when hit or whatever so when you are spamming the trigger it doesn't just head shot by default. Below is something I wrote as a reply. I agree that all the stats just look normal for the gun, but it is far from normal. I have put in thousands of hours mixed with PvE and PvP. I think if the Mida behaved with the stats it would be different. The target acquisition is so broken, the numbers lie. How many times have you been killed around a corner, or behind a wall that no other gun would have killed you by. It literally has wanted bullets. They said they removed the HCR intrinsic perk from the gun D1, but it still flinches other players more than higher impact scouts, period! If they're is one, or more Mida around a corner and they pre-fire, or see you for a split second to pull the trigger your dead. Tell me another gun that has the same effect with mediocre stats. I just checked trials report and the Mida was at 98% and kills were literally more than the next 4-5 guns combined! I understand it is easy to get your hands on one, and that is all cool. But honestly the gun should have been fixed or left behind! It was broken then, it is broken now, point blank period! Any gun that has a "lower" ttk cannot complete with even a semi decent player using Mida, let alone a whole team in competitive/Trials. Last word ADS broken, nerfed into the ground. Doctor of passion, nerfed. Uni, nerfed. Thorn, nerfed. Truth, just nerfed, no fix. Then they are brought back to viability correctly fixing the issues. Mida, not touched, but the slightest bit. Starting to think Bungie has a super soft spot for the damn gun! If you have played a decent amount of PvP, then you know exactly what I am talking about! Cannot even argue it.

          • Several times both outside and inside Battle Arena i try more than the same every way to shotgun. Why? Meega hones the blades only to have spilling resurgence of kilos all over the ground. Watadushane is both groping and reaching in the middle of battle! Where I reach? Down the throat? When ever to shotgun in d1 I was like zeus. Now to shotgun as weight ammo catagory I have no chance ever to go or come kill everything. D2 graphics like pure mountains spring and natures melody in heat. But for me, ignakasa never more than rumour always reaching, always groping. I hope to bungie changes.

MIDA is and isn't the problem in PvP. It's not the problem because it's not very effective in close quarters. It's all around a very standard weapon that doesn't have much going for it from a tactical standpoint other than it rather quick rate of fire, it's ease of use, and it's basically handed to everyone who bothers to quest for it. It is a problem because it cancels out everything this pitiful Crucible 2.0 was balanced for: high time to kill. It cancels that out completely. Why, you ask? Well, let's jump into it. Everyone loves how high ttk leads to "better gun fights and it'll actually take skill to win them now. It's not CoD anymore." While, that sentence may be opinion, MIDA doesn't care about ttk. More so than ever, this is a game where distance means everything. MIDA allows you to close that distance when your opponent is far away. If they rush you from afar, MIDA. If they engage you in a 1v1 from a distance, MIDA. If they are successful in closing distance before they die, switch from MIDA and finish them with your energy weapon that's built for close range AFTER you damage them heavily with MIDA. Teammate over there struggling with a 1v1? Not a problem, pop a MIDA round in their head from a SAFE distance and continue on camping B point. Sniper lanes have become scout lanes because of MIDA. In a game with high ttk, every shot counts. As a scout, MIDA is built for accuracy and as such, performs that duty well. It allows players to get a few hits in from a safe distance that can turn the tide of a gun fight as things become more CQC. And not much can challenge it from afar and rushing it, like I pointed out is risky because you're a sitting duck while you're adjusting for movement and your opponent is sipping tea, pumping a round or two into your head, and finishing you off with a 3 burst sidearm when you get closer because you couldn't quite damage them as well as you were rushing. Protect your high ttk by engaging from a distance. It's the perfect tactic in this game and it only furthers the instances of camping and downright unbearable teamshot when you have 4 MIDAs pointed straight at you. This game was built upon a high ttk philosophy and MIDA Multitool took that philosophy, ripped it's head off, and crapped it down anyone's throat who dare defend this teamshot, high ttk nonsense. The only thing that needs to be nerfed is the mindset that people play honorably in the crucible when the whole objective is to win by any means necessary. MIDA is just a very smart choice in this game as it stands. Never had a problem with this gun in D1 because we could kill quicker. That allowed us to at least challenge scout users in most cases. But in D2, it's come back to bite you all :) Scouting is the new sniping. Hopefully this will encourage a buff to everything around the board, decrease ttk, and actually make crucible fun rather a campy, teamshot borefest. But then again, ya'll will probably just get MIDA nerfed lol.

            • Nameless Midnight can easily keep up with the Mita. If the legendary can keep up with the Mita and it frees up an exotic slot then why not use the midnight. The only perk that the Mita has over the midnight is the radar. And I can honestly say that the prosecutor can take out the mita at medium and for sure close range.

                        • In my experience, I'll lose one on one battles with Mida when I'm not also using Mida. Even if I get the first shot and land all head shots, Mida still wins. Mida is really only not at an advantage of you're really close range and using a really good hand cannon or you're teaming up on someone.
