Here me out....
I'd take vanilla Destiny over this mess of a "balanced" game any day. Heck, the grind for loot was far better and painfully rewarding then being treated like toddlers. Unless they seriously fix the game, I can't see myself playing this game ever again. Rip $60. I'm just glad I didn't pay for the DLC's yet.
The game is unfinished to the T.
Destiny 1 Age of Triumph was 10x more fun to play

100% guarantee anyone who says they'd rather play Vanilla Destiny over this never played Vanilla Destiny.

I would agree, but I think its more telling (and entertaining) to watch the mental gymnastics of Destiny fans trying to defend the state of D2 by saying "Vanilla Destiny was trash too, but it got better after we sunk another $150+ into the franchise over three years" Apparently, for fans of Destiny, the bar has been set so low that they don't even expect a complete, full featured game at launch. Their defense seems to boil down to "It'll get better after I throw more money at the screen". Fans of Destiny are loyal, I have to give them credit for that.

Edited by CatMan: 9/20/2017 4:52:29 PMWas waaaaay over hyped but it isn't garbage...its recycle. AoT was 100x more fun and not because of the rewards like everyone will assume.

No vendors to buy gear/weapons No factions No collections Boring ships and sparrows to buy No return policy at eververse No grimoire/grimoire library, or a clan hangout spot (the was mentioned in destiny year 1already) Not to mention the following bad things outside of the tower: No private matches in crucible No option to select the crucible game type (WTF?) No strike scoring, or a statistics page "Like" the record books (im not saying that the record book should be brought back, but a statistic tracker would be nice) No strike specific loot. No option to select story missions or a specific strike on the map. No ammo synths? Or the option to hotbutton items on de Dpad. No custom d pad options for multiple emotes.. No sparrow Horns No weekly 3x strike rewards for legendary shards The character customisation was the exact same as destiny 1 (Lazy!) + There is still no facial hair option. And what is up with the new shader system?!?! And the list continues... Look bungie, if you make a sequel after 3 years of Destiny 1 experience. Then you would at least start with all the good things and features of the first game, and expand and evolve further from there. But nope.. you guys threw all the good away, and started completely the wrong way. Nice graphics, story is good, gameplay works (cant complain there), But Destiny 2 lacks so many basic features that other games over the years already have or should have from the start. You are trying to drip feed us dlc content, that already should have been in the game the first place. Even worse, you guys at Bungie already had those features in Destiny 1. Shame on you guys, me and many many more players are so dissapointed in you. Take note on this. Sincerely, a loyal guardian who wishes well to all. Ps: even if there are still plans for the future, communicate with us bungie and tell us what we can expect more. In 3 days i played trough all the content except for the raid yet. So whats the plan?

Destiny 1 vanilla. When it took you forever to level loot.....

Edited by Kone19ps: 9/19/2017 8:42:36 PMNah far better than vanilla destiny except the raid. But not much better than either expansion. Just different format.

It is garbage for sure. We all know now not to fall for Bungie hype though. It's always a serious let down. It's an old build oh wait that's an old excuse. Btw take this crappy exotic for pre order we where going to delete from the game.

1. Vanilla Destiny 1 was in many was a badly designed, and broken game. 2. Age of Triumph was a "victory tour" of a THREE year old game that had three years and FOUR DLCs plus multiple free updates of content to play. Silly comparison. Destiny 2 is a two week old game that hasn't even finished being fully ROLLED OUT yet.

Honestly, I'm finding Destiny in general to be an overhyped miscellaneous fps. Mechanically, the game design is sound, with some decent innovations regarding progression and dripfeed content, but on the whole, I'm left wondering why people are so excited about this game. It's literally Just Another FPS (tm). I'm disappointed at the heavy emphasis on PvP after you finish the main story sequence, and the rest of it has been done just as well in any other FPS on the market. (shrug)

Turns out, balance isn't quite so fun in PVE...
-
you played the beta and still bought it, I knew it was going to be trash.
-
You never played D1 Vanilla sir
-
D1's launch was the worst. Ever looked at the forums during that time? Clearly you haven't because it was way more toxic than today's.
-
K bye kid
-
I don't think you quite remember vanilla Destiny then...
-
I really don't think you remember the D1 launch.
-
Wait wait wait, whoa whoa whoa, hold on there . . . Destiny 2 has a grind for loot? I thought after milestones, you got nothing to get higher light.
-
Sure lost sectors, and adventures, and the raid were way over hyped, and the game has no depth to it

I hear ya.. $350 on the collectors for crap i wont use.. i was ok with that because i thought i was gonna get another 3 years out of that $350.. its been 2 weeks and i already dont wanna play anything the game has to offer.. id usually just play pvp to wait out content but its soooooo painfully bad in D2
-
Yeah, I played D1 last night. Felt nice to have actual space magic to play with. The tower was full of guardians too.
