Seriously, 6 Vanguard engrams....because that hunter armor is amazing, and not one piece of armor yet.
Who thought going from a token reward system that lets you buy specific pieces of armor or weapons you are missing, and going to a RNG engram system that randomly decides if you will or will not get a piece of armor.
I mean technically if your RNG sucks you can go the entirety of D2 and never get a complete set of armor from any of the factions.

I don't have problems with the Legendary gear, but getting your 6th or 7th shit shoulder exotic, while some weapons you really want wont drop even after your 50th exotic is frustrating. There's a system other games introduced: give a token per dismantled exotic, and with 10 or 20 of those you can buy an exotic you want.

Edited by killerbee126: 9/18/2017 2:42:46 PMThe RNG system could work if they had implemented it better. Say like they had near the end of D1. Like when you rank up with a faction or in D2's case person you'd have a a choice between an armor engram or weapon engram. That way if you're trying to complete an armor set or just really need to get a better piece you have a better chance of getting it with the loot pool. Edit: this idea however wouldn't work for the gunsmith as you only get weapons from him and master Rahool as then if you had an exotic engram you'd be more likely to get the one exotic you want as currently you can't get cross class items(can't get Titan armor on a Warlock for example) and if I'm not mistaken the exotic loot pool is small (I don't know how many exotics are currently in game). But this system would work for all the other vendors.

So you'd rather it be even easier to get everything you want? The whole point of the game is to keep you playing. If you get everything you want whenever you want it kills the replayability. You think destiny is bad, try playing Diablo 3. You can literally go hundreds of hours without finding the item you want. At least destiny it's incredibly easy to get tokens.
-
After doing the weekly stuff, there's nothing left to chase like there was in D1. Good thing for me because my life is busy. Bad thing for the hardcore players because there's nothing to do outside of the weekly reset stuff.
-
Still haven't gotten the Old Fashioned. In D1 when I wanted The Devil You Know I grinded for the currency, then bought the gun. D2 comes in, I grind for the currency, and oh look ANOTHER Scathelocke.... The problem is that there is almost no variety in the game. If Bungie allowed us to buy what we wanted then we'd already have everything because there are like 5 pieces of gear in the entire game. (Obvious exaggeration.) So they leave it up to RNG so you get the same thing 50 times before finally getting what you want. Artifically extending the grind and play time.

>Bungie introduces a means to get GUARANTEED LEGENDARIES >"How could you do this Bungie"
-
Do you want to grind or not? People were mad that there's no more god roll farming. Now we have this.
-
It's not a bad idea whatsoever I just enjoyed the chance at actual solid loot dropping from bosses a little more than tokens 🤷🏼♂️
-
I just want Uriel's how tf you get it? Only a crucible drop because I've opened hundreds of engrams and still none...
-
Edited by Wanderer Kaël: 9/19/2017 3:39:12 PMIt seems like a lot of good changes happened for D2, but it also feels like they had to sacrifice other stuff that weren't a problem for reasons unknown. (Rushed game again maybe?)
-
This isn't so much a problem as it is to have weapon and class specific infusion. You never know how rare it is to get a rocket launcher til you want to infuse to raise your light level but still be valuable with a good loadout, and not locked to specific gear.
-
The vendors being rng is the only thing that really annoys me. I want the damn Edz hunter and titan armor and Ikoras titan armor. Ill never get a whole set but by god ill have a hell of a boot collection since thats all i get. It would be nice if i could progress more on my light but nah just get boots snd weapons all day. Nothing else.
-
Yes. this sucks. I miss the days when I walked down the stairs to dead orbit and bought what I wanted. I spent 4 hours last night on neesus trying to get uriels gift. All I get is armor and the damn sidearm. Rng from vendors bad idea.
-
Edited by xLEFx777x: 9/18/2017 11:09:43 PMWould it break the game to let us choose which piece of gear we want from a specific vendor once we level it up? No. So yeah, I agree with you.
-
I know this feel, so many hours grinding to get the io armor, and I have to show for it are a mountain of blue shift rocket launchers and death adder smgs. So damn annoying.
-
Here's to hoping that the coming pvp faction and iron banner gear is not just re skinned versions with the same perks... while I am grateful that there is a way to avoid some frustrating weekly rng drops with tokens , it just seems like a poor attempt at false hope. This is just my take on it and some may like the system as is.

Edited by OMiNoUsBLue: 9/19/2017 2:59:14 PMNot even kidding, I pray and beg to the vendor of what armor I want to get before I decode the engram, and I get it! THANK YOU ASHER, DEVRIM, AND FAILSAFE!! Got all the armor I wanted from each for all my Characters, just need to get a helmet and boots for Warlock
-
I agree. I have been farming IO for the hunter armor and I have aquired two pieces so far and about 20 weapons.
-
Edited by The Curtain With: 9/19/2017 8:44:44 AMI did a shit ton of strikes tonight leveled zavala at least 6 times and didn't get one vanguard weapon and not one vanguard piece of armor. if your gonna give us the path to use tokens for the people in game who's shit we want, don't drop stuff out of that loot pool lol
-
lol the devs are trolling
-
Edited by Lachasneeze: 9/18/2017 1:46:05 PMYeah, I've gotten at least 30 arcology engrams from titan and only one piece of the lost pacific set
-
Bump this. I really like how D1 ended in regards to us being able to select what type of reward we wanted.
-
I don't know about anyone else but most of the armor looks like we are caught in some space-age renaissance revival.
-
Welcome to the Destiny franchise where at the start Bungie does everything thy can to elongate grind to make the game seem like it has more content (still waiting for all those guns we were promised. I mean they did say Destiny 2 on launch has more guns than Destiny 1 has had throughout its life span. Not seeing it.) Wait until about a year into this games lifespan when they take away the grind and you can practically buy your way to like "power level" 320 or something and then "power level" 350 stuff drops like candy at a parade.
-
Edited by Tencint: 9/18/2017 1:26:34 PMBungie did the more RNG and the worse the RNG the more people play
-
They seem to have gotten a lot of things wrong with this so call sequel ,they had a whole 3 years to learn from their mistake and have crap the bed.
