For anyone who hasn't read the weekly update, Bungie is planning on releasing the D2 raid on Wednesday the 13th, at 10AM PST, and Trials on Friday of that same week.
Personally, I have multiple concerns with this. First, why is it being released in the middle of the week? I would like to imagine Destiny's community as full of people who either attend school or work, if not both. Releasing it in the middle of the week makes it difficult for anyone with any kind of life to actually be able to dedicate enough time to compete in the raid as it drops. I have not heard one single positive comment regarding the choice of day to release it.
Second, why is Trials being dropped so soon after release? I very much enjoy playing Trials, but even I would rather have it released after everyone has had plenty of time to enjoy the PvE endgame.
Bungie, please stop catering to the no-life neckbeard minority of your Destiny community and think about the guardians that have a life and try to competitively play Destiny.

You must be new here. VoG released September 16th 2014, aka one week after launch... which was a Tuesday since you obviously weren't there. This is par for the course with a raid release. I swear people just want to complain about anything these days.
-
Anecdotally, Wednesday at 10am and Friday at 10am doesn't make too much of a difference to me, I'd be at work either way if it weren't for the fact that I happened to be taking vacation during that stretch of time.
-
Actually at PAX Luke Smith said they want to keep the raid tied to the release window. Hence both the raid and Trials launch on the week of the first reset.
-
It will be released on September 13
-
My opinion is that it doesn't matter. It's not like it's going away.
-
Expected
-
It's not the day of the week that bothers me, it's how soon after the release it is. One week later doesn't give me much faith in the variety or quality of content we're expected to complete before attempting the end-game event.
-
its too early only the speed runner and massive sweats will be able to get the raid cap in time push it to two weeks
-
I don't care. I'm not in any rush other than to play the game itself the first day.
-
It really doesn't matter if the raid is released within a week of the game coming out. This notion that Bungie should hold back the release date for the sake of letting you slow play your way through the game is silly. If you aren't able to do the raid the first week its available its not the end of the world.
-
As long as they are ready Day 1 for PC release i dont care about their consoles release date
-
The raid is being released in the same timing as they all have and I really don't see a problem. Bungie can not cater for everyone. If bungie released it later then the people who do have more time to play the game will be bored and saying there is no content. Nobody is forcing you to level up quick to do the raid and nobody is forcing any of you to then watch or read spoilers - it's simple level at your own pace don't watch or read spoilers and go in blind there will be plenty of people still wanting the same as you 2,3 hell even six weeks after the raid comes out. It didn't spoil any raid that came in D1 so why are so many moaning about it in d2?
-
While I disagree with your options, I also feel that the raid is being released too early. I want to enjoy the game, and not have my friends harp on me for taking me time. Two weeks, I feel, would have been fine. But a week, let me take time off work and ignore my daughter during her first week of school so I can get raid ready.
-
Not everyone is off on weekends so the raid start time is perfect for me. Trials on the other hand is a different story. Stop complaining.
-
Honestly, why rush to be endgame ready when you have other commitments? Of you have other priorities (school, family, work, etc) then being raid ready a week afyer launch should not be on your mind.
-
Are people concerned or even jealous if someone else gets to raid before they do? And what is this "life" every whiner seems to have but for some reason all they talk about is playing Destiny which apparently isnt having a "life". If Destiny means this much to you then dont embarrass yourself by saying things like this. Raid release date is ok which can be considered a positive comment so now you can edit you text a bit.
-
Casual or Competitive. Pick one. Each are fine. The fact they are releasing content doesn't mean you're forced to rush any more than you want to, there's plenty of Clans for casual players to enjoy the game at a slower pace.
-
Edited by CookieNiki: 9/2/2017 1:12:47 PMIt's roughly schedule like the previous raids were, so I see no problem with that. I would take my normal pace through the game even if it was released on day 1.
-
Don't care option as a third?
-
1-the raid will provide addt'l PVE content which is why the sooner it's released the better. 2-the Streamers have been eating KD and Ichiban for two weeks. They need the gullible to support their channels so they can afford a decent meal. Thats why Trials is being released.
-
Biased poll is biased
-
Umm, that's before the pc release, yes? so i don't care
trying to wait patiently, like in a psych ward
-
You realize it is ONLY the nolife neckbeards who realistically are going to be raid ready, raid day. That and people who really, really trust other clan mates to play on their characters. Since there will be no shortcuts this time around , only people who can play 24/7 are going to be ready in a week.
-
i get your concern.. but it wouldnt make much of a difference.... it will take 4 weeks for the majority of the community to understand how to beat the raid.. most of us will not beat it the first weeks
-
Does it really matter when the raid comes out? Its not like you have to rush to get it done the first f$cking day its out. Does the trials date really affect you in anyway Other than to feel the need to bitch about it?
-
Have they changed the way raids work or do we still have a week to complete it with all 3 characters? Haven't played in a while but looking forward to #2
