The Destiny 2 Debate (Coming from a true Destiny fanboy)

Hello. My name is Luke but my online friends know me better as Ace. I have been playing Destiny since launch and have easily sank over 2,000 hours into the first game. I beat every raid within a week of them releasing and have played countless amounts of strikes. I have dove into the lore of this game that was buried away. I have come onto the forums to discuss a very pressing topic. Concerns for Destiny 2. As a long time Destiny fan, I care about this franchise a lot, and it has become a part of my daily routine. I have almost never posted to forums, but this topic was bugging me too much. After playing the beta, my concerns only grew. I have no doubts that this game will keep people entertained with its "More content than progression" approach. And the story could be one for the ages. BUT, it is when we delve into the PVP that we get to the problems. Bungie has changed things in PVP that has leaked into PVE that are not good changes. The super cooldown, the TTK (Time to Kill) has been increased for the worst, etc. But the main concerns I have are hardware concerns. The lack of dedicated servers and keeping the console versions at 30 FPS is utterly ridiculous for such a large IP. Plenty of other games have dedicated servers AND are running at a steady 60 FPS. Dont get me wrong, I only wish the best for this game. But the more layers you peel back, the more problems are being exposed. I wanna create this thread to not BASH Bungie and its projects, but to help pointing out the flaws in hopes Bungie will see them and attempt to fix them. Please feel free to post your hopes and concerns.

  • I too loved the original and have clocked in many hours but within a hour of playing the beta I was put off D2 so much I cancelled my pre order. I know the original had some big flaws but it was so much fun I turned a blind eye to them. I my mind it's main flaws are: Getting shot through walls Damage not registering consistently Players teleporting Being spawned next to enemy's These things all lead to frustration but I can live with that if the rest of the game play is fun. Unfortunately in D2 they have taken away/changed all the elements I found fun but left the flaws of the original in. I was hoping for a higher level of skilled play but everything seems to have been dumbed down so the skill gap has been lessened.
