Hello, everyone.
I have noticed a few peculiarities in the new competitive multiplayer trailer that I would like to discuss, more particularly the Time-To-Kill and the pace of the game.
In the new trailer the game looks much more fast-paced and fun than in the beta. More Supers, weapons doing more damage, possibly one-shot kill shoulder charges and one-shot sniper kills. For me, if this were in the game I would be pleased as I am a fan of fast-paced gameplay. Otherwise, I feel that we are being lied to and that definitely rubs me the wrong way. I know Bungie and Activision are not beyond lying to us, but still, this seems like false advertising to me. Anyways, let me know your thoughts.
EDIT: If Bungie is taking our feedback and changing the gameplay to be more fast-paced that is a good thing IMO, but I don't think this is the case here.
EDIT 2: Here's an idea, if this fast-paced gameplay isn't in the base crucible gamemodes, perhaps Bungie can provide a gamemode that has it.

11 RepliesBe careful what you ask for everyone you are gonna f**k destiny 2 up before it's even released the beta played really well its the fact so many people have relied on ability spam and one hit kill special weapons for so long they were turd In the beta so want all the op stuff back so they have a chance of getting a easy kill or two that's why so many people are creaming there pants over the trailer wanting pvp to play like this. People camping power ammo all game so the can get 1 shot body shots from across the map and people mindlessly charging in firing 1 handcannon shot to the body then a quick melee it will get old quick bet you all want sticky nades to 1 shot again as well just learn to aim so you don't need your easy mode crutches.

I said all through yr 1 that our characters moved way to fast. That was the real problem and not weapons or abilities. I knew they would nerf movment speed. Thing is that should have been done in D1 Not in D2 with nerfed weapons and nerfed abilities. Bungies answer to the content drought.. Slow us down and weaken us overall. Makes simple mechanics seem harder same with the enimies. Thus content "lasts longer"

Here's something from the trailer, a 314 dmg body shot ( and sniper kill). Somehow i dont think we'll be seeing that or one with a 12 rnd clip either.
-
It will be a lagfest just like D1 so it doesn't matter....
-
I like how one of the submachine guns does 14 per head and then 23 per head in the same 2 seconds in the trailer. It makes crucible look inconsistent and it shows they're not even looking at it themselves

If you are talking about this trailer was posted by PlayStation https://youtu.be/OvtXw6tAM9E Then you were right it was faster because it was 60fps

6 RepliesThat trailer made crucible look fun If it's similar to that with a bit more emphasis on gunplay rather than abilities/team shooting , i think I'd preorder
-
it's the typical activision style of pvp trailers. just look at the past CoD ones. All were like this. just pump up the damage and make everything look like the pace is really high. while in fact this is just marketing to make everything look cool.
-
Yeah the trailer made it look alot more like D1.

Was this an acurate display of actual gameplay? Hell no! Does Dubious Volley really pack the same blast in each single rocket as a one shot launcher? Hell no! Does the void concussion launcher really have such a wide arc? Hell no! etc. etc. This was a cut together trailer. It was designed to get the easily fooled excited. Those who played the beta already know that PvP was slowed down deliberately. That time to kill was increased and that it's a 4 v 4 system dependent on sneak attacks or team kills. One thing that someone pointed out and I've been curious to know too is "Is this stuff even in the game at all". By stuff I mean the weapons and armour shown. A lot of the exotics and items from Destiny never showed up in the base game where they were first shown off in trailers and clips just like the ones we have been getting. Worst still they showed up in DLC as a means to get you to buy that and then with a final insult to injury the Dubious Volley (teased since Taken King) didn't even manage to show up!

2 RepliesWell that's interesting, I thought most wanted this slow mo D2 is offering. And what makes it even more interesting, is that Bungie thinks PC gamers are into slow mo PvP games lol.
-
9 RepliesThe teaser trailer is a lie. It looks like fun is being had. Wait until you have a hand cannon in hand. You wont be able to one shot, then melee kill someone.. It will be more like, 10 shots fired, 3 melee's later.. is this -blam!-in guy dead yet?!?! kind of gameplay that will be going on. Also, dont think you are getting that cool void energy weapon in the game. I don't think that will show up at all and there will be an armor set or two that won't appear either.. That's bungie vision for ya. Make things look great, then don't actually have it in the game at all. They done this since destiny year one. So take the trailer for what it is. Hype!

Edited by aboniks: 8/11/2017 5:43:42 AMIf the hype train were standing still, nobody would want to ride it. This is hockey. (NSFW) Misleading or nah?

3 RepliesI like how people think these Destiny marketing trailers are the only ones to ever highlight the good and downplay the boring/bland parts....
-
Titanfall gameplay will be my favorite forever because it is "fast as fuk boi".
-
3 RepliesThe trailer didn't show the 10 minute wait for the Super to charge. It didn't show an entire team, team-shooting some poor scrub who popped his head around a corner. It didn't show the slow assed ttk. Putting half a clip of bullets into someone looking the other while playing with their fidget spinner. Then for them to casually put the fidget spinner away pick up their ps4 controller and have plenty of time for them to make a sandwich then run away.

That trailer was so bullshit.
-
Yes, its a farce, a lie. And bungie is not by any means above lying to us, which they have done many times already.
-
There is a video covering the subject by I believe it is Briar Rabbit. It was clearly a jacked up set of settings to make hype. There was a sniper BODY shot that gave over 300 damage. Then there was a single hit from hand cannon leaving a player with some shield only to have him vaporized by a single melee. I wish bungie would come out and admit this was false advertising of the crucible experience but remember guys this is Bungie so I am not going to hold my breath. Who knows maybe there are one shot body shot snipers in D2 we will all feel right at home...
-
The trailer had people shooting each other. There were abilities used, some power weapon use. Some points were awarded. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
-
It would hardly look exciting if they just had 8 guardians popping each other with primaries for ages to kill each other. That's why 90% of what you seen was supers and power weapons with video sped up by 4/5.
-
I liked the way the beta was, but I would actually prefer it to be how the trailer displays the Crucible. The only problem is knowing whether or not the trailer is a montage of carefully set up plays, cinematic play, another old build, or how PvP will actually be. There are one or two parts that have someone killing someone with a time to kill relatively close to what we have now using a primary and without team shooting. It is definitely closer to PvP now and miles away from what we played in the beta. Looks good, but it could just be marketing. Either way I am still excited for the game.
-
1 ReplyYes, but it's entertaining and it's advertisement it's like a good story with some stretching of the truth. I thought it was a good. I'll prolly watch it a few times. Seriously would you want to see boring primary weapon play with long TTK.
-
I truly do hope that the gameplay is as fast as in the trailer.
-
It was a promo, it wouldn't sell very well if they showed how the beta played. I liked the pace of PvP at the end of year 1. Still before the secondary weapon meta but after the Thorn meta. Even for a casual player it wasn't overwhelming once you got used to it.

All trailers are full of lies
