It's Time To Face The Truth, "Halo Bungie" Is Truly Dead ...

and "Destiny Bungie" isn't even a shadow of their former selves ...the utter lack of progressive features in D2 is just astoundingly absurd, i do not care what excuse this AAA studio has, the only thing i have to say to you is : *preps Gordan Ramsay voice* "...This bass is -blam!-ing raw!!..." that is all...

  • Just watching a trailer that was done back in 2013 I couldn't believe how much has changed. the destiny of that time is nothing like it is now in two years we have gone from a aaa fps to a b grade joke I think most of the problems are with in the actual company itself by not listening to the majority of people who play this game if anything they only have them self to blame for this.

    • Said it before I'll say it again. Don't blame Bungo blame industry. In fact, blame gamers. Gaming has changed and the fans have spoken, they'd rather give their money to a game with little in the way or plot or compelling stories, but great gameplay and online interactions. We've been heading down this route for 5+ years now. Bungo had to adapt or get left behind, they made the choice any if us would have made.

          • Halo Bungie has been gone since Reach, some went with the company to make Destiny and some made 343i (shudders) to continue Halo. Most of the current staff at Bungie probably never worked on Halo besides Luke Smith. Also what has Blizzard been helping Bungie with, just the PC version? Nothing on progression, loot, etc.

They truly lost their way once they left their own community(Seventh Column) to die, fired Marty over bullshit, and then ultimately destroyed Destiny for the sake of attracting casuals. It's no longer about the fans or the quality of the game. No. It's about making as much money as possible no matter the negative repercussions.
@ownLife If you've followed Bungie for any length of time (I've been a Bungie fan since Myth II), you'd be in denial if you believed what Bungie is doing now, compared to what Bungie has done, is A-Okay. Old Bungie: amazing community, amazing games that didn't require spending $200+ to enjoy the full experience, lots of community involvement from the team (I used to love the Mail Sack posts), a more up-beat message, no Activision, no "exclusive" content, no pay wall... on and on. New Bungie: a jaded community, a Bungie "community" member that clearly is more concerned with PR than actual substance, a marketing machine that boasts gameplay options that just straight up aren't true ("if you can see it..."), a massive paywall, limited options in-game... unless you pay, sparse involvement from the Bungie team, bare-minimum communication, more concern with "hype" than actual substance, a clear road map of releasing half-a-game, then using "DLCs" to "flesh-out" the rest of the game.... etc., etc.... If we're all being honest with ourselves, it's next to impossible to deny the fall of Bungie. Did they make a massively successful game with Destiny 1? Sure. Will Destiny 2 be huge? Yup. Does that matter? Not at all. Why? Because Destiny 2 will sell very well and make lots of money (gee, I wonder why they are releasing it on PC?), but the active player base will have a massive drop-off shortly after release, which will perpetuate this massively toxic community (for good reason), forcing Bungie to make more "decisions" about gameplay mechanics and additions, further isolating Bungie fans. And the cycle continues... Make no mistake: New Bungie is a sad excuse for carrying the Bungie name. Denying this is an act of self-justification and ignorance. New Bungie fans jump from game to game. Bungie will feel this down the road and they'll be just another Dice or Massive--a drop in the gaming world bucket. It's a shame, really, I can count on one hand how many game developers are genuinely moving the gaming industry forward, rather than cashing-in on a very lucrative business model. Sadly, Bungie is just another gaming company making lots of money by milking their customers for all they're worth.
• I mean. the Bungie everyone fantasizes about has been done with since reach. but imo they'eve always been over talked. And this is coming from someone who started with them in halo 1. they were always pretty vague about things. they always kept things tight to the chest. they never had any really good track record with communication to their fans. I don't think they've really changed all too much. And I think a majority of people who think so just want to romantisize the past and be inside the "in" crowd with destiny hate. I've always said from the beginning that I wanted destiny to be a lot more RPG than fps. But realistically speaking D1 attracted a wide audience. and it grew. and making D2 a more polished D1 experience was the smart call instead of starting from scratch. That's not to say D2 doesn't already have issues (mine just are not the typical ones everyone is currently crying over) but as usual people are making dumb threads like this and making a big deal out of things. If you honestly NEED someone to blame for anything destiny related either blame the community or blame activision. Activision has over stepped their bounds with the design process with destiny 1 more than once. we know this. and the community will never be happy. regardless of who bungie tries to appease. You can slam them for trying to appease everyone. But i'd rather blame the lil shits that got their attention. Not the devs who are trying to make everyone happy.

                  • It's time to face the fact that nobody, NOBODY, a hit like Halo with every new IP or sequel they touch. Other big AAA studios have made failure after failure and in this case, Destiny and the current Bungie have yet to become a failure by comparison to when they made Halo games.
3 years running on a new IP with a sequel about to launch and an average of 500k+ players per week is NOT a failure or "shadow of itself" no matter what you want to believe... you don't have to be a fan to read the writing on the wall either. Destiny IS a success and is continuing to be successful until PROVEN otherwise.
Destiny doesn't have to be the greatest or even the top 10 current best games to continue to be a success. They just need to be a long-term success that leads to making more games and other IPs that they're passionate about. Not all of them will be an equal success or be greater than Halo and that's okay.

Some might say it happened the day they signed a deal with Activision. For me, it was the day that news broke of Marty being fired - dust and echoes are all that remain of the legendary studio that developed Halo.

                          • He said it... And....... Done.... No crumbs left we all ate it....Off topic but... Destiny 1 maps confirmed?? Or redskins I want a much dreary more scary ominous tone even melancholy vive to D2 like for real.. Honestly like it's a game where people dye every second. We need some touch heartwarming tone to the game not all bs action that has not even a base for it being enjoyable if you don't put its counterpart of solemn sadness in a world so torn by destruction and a beautiful past that may never be again. I want missions where I feel emotionally connected to the game with orchestra filling my bones full of nostalgia but not for desiring old maps but what the world in it was. Then filled with the wrath a real guardian would have to want to actually push themselves to be motivated to save the world from destruction.... Allllll lol Ll the trailers have been pushing adventures and fun how about humanity... People aren't always in action or happy we all feel sad now and then. These trailers pushing the games action and fun forget how if it's all fun then non is fun you must balance it with the actual reality that.. Destiny's world is painful its sad and it can be human... And we can actually connect but the developers ha e shoved fun so far up their asses they forget how sadness feels maybe it's their millions or their greed that lends them to not see that living life is sad and so is in destiny. I'm not saying make it all boring sad I'm saying balance is what will make the game come alive and not just have a forgetful history such as of vanilla. Make destiny great. Not again just Idk kill cade off -blam!- it kill of the speaker.. Just make it right and make it have a reasons let those who invested over 2000 plus and I know it's plus hours actually come to a point where they drop the control and feel actual sadness.. Sadly bungie aren't great story tellers or will they be Idk d2 isn't out I just hope they aren't just plain old everyday sensationalists because that's not art that's just shit on a stick. Fun until you realize it's actually shit. Give destiny life...
