#1 Thing Destiny 2 is Lacking

I feel like Destiny 2 could be the best game of all time. But from the Beta so far I feel a little bit let down with the PVE side of the game. I realize I haven't played the entire game so far but here are my thoughts on what Destiny 2 needs to be a better game PVE story wise. An interesting enemy to fight in the campaign. The Cabal are entire void of any personality as far as grunts and the commanders, and psion flayers. The only single character in the game that speaks English is the Gaul or Garry. And he has a short cutscene at the start of the game. In between that sequence is a bunch of Lifeless enemies with little to no personality or motivation. So killing them doesn't feel rewarding. There is no enjoyable head popping sound, or a satisfyingly burning animation or an execution with swords and supers making them dissapear in any uneventful way. They don't taunt the player or give any fear. They are easily taken out and once that's done, you move on to more fodder enemies. I realize that is the FPS formula but I kind of expect something more from Bungie in 2017. Every other SCI FI fps game has some kind twist. For example in Titanfall 2. An entire level you can teleport back and forth in time. There is another level where you are taunted by the boss. In Doom they have executions for example that keep the player entertained for a while. In Destiny 2 you are just switching between 2 primaries and heavy and using your super once in a long while. The weapons themselves are much weaker now so really something else exciting needs to happen to make shooting these things interesting. At this point I feel like for me to buy a game, I need some kind of reward or something visceral to keep me going. I haven't played destiny for 5 month or so but coming back to it, I am not excited anymore like I was the last time. I think part of it is the boring enemies. Although I think it is cool whats happening in the background of the Skybox, it fails to really move me in any emotional way. I think the game should work more on making the Red Legion comes out of its shell, then the game would be more satisfying. On the other spectrum the Vex are the same as before with no obvious changes other than adding multi stage boss fights, with bosses powering up after they hit different health levels. The Fallen don't have any exciting new enemies. And without the Grimoire, and with it being taken out, you expect that the game will be entirely lifeless of personality on the PVE front, with lifeless enemies as Bullet sponges. One the other hand there a lot of potential here to make the game interesting. But again it seems like Bungie took the safe route. Just my thought tho.
