Super and ability charge rate needs to be greatly increased

What makes Destiny great, and also what makes it stand out from other fps games are the abilities. The supers in Destiny 1 were amazing, and it was always really fun to use them. It made you feel really powerful, and would give potential for amazing plays and great memories. The supers in Destiny 2 are really cool as well, but only getting to use them once per match is a serious missed opportunity for pvp. Sometimes I even go a whole game without getting my super. This needs to be changed. In my opinion you should get more super energy for kills and assists, so if you are doing well you will get more than one super per game. Most of the time I get a super in the last minute of the game (just like everyone else), and I have to frantically try to use it before the match ends. Hopefully there will be a way to recharge super, and abilities faster is the the full release of the game. Only having one super per match is also very disheartening if you are killed before getting any kills. Destiny 2 pvp, and pve would greatly benefit from having faster super charge time.

    • This. If Bungie agreed to fix the problem with abilities recharging in the beta, it would make me seriously rethink my decision not to preorder Destiny 2. There's a lot less fun in the game with our abilities both weakened and available less often. Until we can be GUARDIANS in Destiny 2, instead of mere soldiers in primary duels, I really think I'll stick with Destiny 1. It's just more fun.

    • No. I would prefer to see better players rewarded with abilities and Supers. Get rid of passive charge (in PvP) entirely, and instead you get X amount of Super/Ability charge per kill and per objective. Then, you lose X amount for any death that is not an outright map fatality.

      • Pve should be buffed for sure, I'd say double the rate at least Pvp should stay at 1 super per game. The initial charge should be fast enough that you get one no matter how bad you play, and if your on a roll you can get it early and not feel rushed to use it. Make it more strategic

          The more you decrease the cooldown, the more sweaty panickers you get. The more sweaty panickers, the more angry victims. The more angry victims, the more salty nerf posts. The more salty nerf posts, the less powerful you get. Also decreasing the recharge takes value away from the super. (This is in regard to PvP. PvE is what needs changing.)

            We used gear with nothing to reduce cooldown times. If you run tier 0 int/dis/str, the times are basically identical.

          • And buff those grenades. They may be a little much in Destiny 1, but the Destiny 2 grenades are ridiculously weak.

          • I'm no pro. I know we all got used to D1...and all had things they wanted "fixed" in PvP but it feels like we got a completely different experience here. I didn't see a reason to force 4v4 on everyone,I didn't see a reason to ice all of our abilities, and definitely didn't see a reason for handcuffing the skill trees. If you wanted a balanced weapons system for PvP,(a friend thought) why not a separate system for PvP? Weapons and maybe even gear. Keep the two worlds separate. Allow for crucible dropped items, and a vendor to get you started or keep you up to date. It would seem to eliminate the "god gun" issues of D1(Year 1 Mythoclast). I know it's a beta, but i feel like it's too much like a reboot. Abitlty cool downs are harsh, the 4v4 is disappointing(to ME). That being said, I am a huge fan of the franchise. The PvE version of this stuff is (I think), as it should be. Early gameplay of D1 was similar in weapon effectiveness and abilities. Guardians grow stronger over time but I wish we had the skill tree open. Sorry for the rant.....just my thoughts. -just one voice in a crowd

          • I agree that they should give you more super energy for kills. I don't think they should make it recharge as fast as it did in Destiny 1, because it ruined some of the challenge to story missions and strikes in my opinion. Just so you can get 2 per crucible match if you do well. That's all.

          • i think the longer recharge time isn't totally bad, but it forces players to pick up other players dropped orbs to speed it up. i was like pac-man out there, and i was getting my super off a few times.

              Personally, I wasn't a fan of getting killed by the guy who was getting killed the entire match and getting their super regardless.

                  • Super and abilities should get an increase recharge rate but only a tad bit. If you compare the supers from D1 to D2, D2's supers are much more OP. 6 shots golden gun, roaming titan striker, roaming void titan, projectiles from dawn blade. With that being said, you should at least be able to take down 3 enemies so imagine if we had them twice in a match, it'll be too chaotic. I'd say they definitely should be able to use once per match and if so the score needs to be raised up.

                    It’s so funny all the punks who say well you better get better don’t even have a destiny account linked. Almost always they never do. They are probably trash and are embarrassed on how bad they play and don’t want us seeing there kd yet they talk smack. Your right man ability and cooldowns need buffed badly. FYI pvp pros have complained about the same thing he is talking about.

                        fast charging abilities were necessary in destiny because bungie basically eliminated the usefulness of non primary weapons in pvp. since destiny 2 adjusted so you could have two weapons consistently, there is no need to use abilities in every single firefight, seriously every firefight in destiny has a grenade thrown, it's way too much. if you got twice as many supers for doing well, bad players would be at an unnecessary disadvantage. I think scorestreaks could be fun though. of course destiny 2 pvp is still bull crap because they still hate snipers and want everyone on the radar at all times because flanking shouldn't be allowed apparently
