I personally hate it... It's too awkward in PvE not having a sniper/shotgun for enemies.
Edit: If we could have 2 primary, 1 secondary, and 1 heavy weapon, it would be great.
However, if we have to choose between the original system and the new, I'd rather the classic primary, secondary, and heavy option.

No i miss my year 1 last word efrideet and radegast fury setup. Destiny 1 weapon system was always great we don't need double primary just stronger primary weapons.

Hate it.

No, no and hell no!!!! I want sniper rifles and shotguns and fusion rifles returned to their rightful place. It's laughable making them heavy weapons. Watered down weapons and abilities isn't going to fix the problem. Stop catering to pvp and fix the damn game!!

Edited by XaveBoy: 7/26/2017 5:44:59 AMIts little bit awkward for me. Why use kinetic primary weapon when instead you can use the same weapon, but with elemental dmg. It doesnt make any sense and doesnt give players flexibility. Primaries should be primaries and secondaries secondaries, simple as that. It also makes the game more interesting and balancing easier. Also power weapons doesnt make a lot of sense in PvE. Having shotguns, fusions and snipers in power slot only makes PvP more balanced. I power ammo box in PvE should atleast give 2 full mags of ammo for shotguns for example, not 4-6 bullets.

i didn't really have a problem with it. made things a bit easier if you ask me.
-
I genuinely hate it.....how can shooting a bullet sponge boss with 2x primaries be fun?.... Implementing dual-wield would have been interesting though!

I don't like the double primary at all. There was something nice about having primary, secondary, heavy slots. I knew, when switching weapons, what to expect. My primary was going to be one of a few weapon types. My secondary was going to be one of a few weapon types. My heavy was one of a select few types. Now when I'm switching, I have no idea what my load out is going to look like. Sure. I should know what weapon type I assigned to what position. But there's something so much nicer about going auto rifle to sniper, than there is about going auto rifle to auto rifle. In this new set up, the weapons handle so similarly that I, as a player, can't tell which one is kinetic and which has an element assigned to it. I found myself button mashing through my weapons just to see what was different and nothing felt like anything special. I wasn't a fan of this change. I'd like to see the old weapons system return.

The kinetic slot just feels like a BB gun, energy slot feels like destiny 1 primaries and heavy . . . Wtf is the crap.

Edited by adam3ros: 7/26/2017 11:12:18 AMMy only issue with two primaries is that some guns like sidearms are now primary and are pretty lacking in power for a primary.
-
There should be two primary's for crucible and then it should be like the first game for pve

Preach!

Edited by skf4: 7/25/2017 4:16:48 PMNo, its cheap and gives us a reson to forget there are no LMGs in D2 !!!!!😠😠
-
no it's pointless.. i just use the one the the burn.

Edited by TitanGear: 7/25/2017 11:03:11 PMI wouldnt care if I could mix and match but not being able to move my scout rifle to the energy slot is a dealbreaker. All i can get is submachine guns and auto rifles in both but either I couldn't find an "energy only" scout rifle or they are incompetent in programming to allow us to select and drag between kinetic and energy

Edited by Tj_Prestigious: 7/25/2017 4:13:33 AMA better question is do people hate having 2 primary weapons or hate that shotguns and snipers were moved to the heavy slot.
-
Its difficult because I do like it for PvP but not so keen on the system for PvE....... But i'll adapt.

Edited by CBO MRMARSTON: 7/25/2017 4:48:32 AMEfficiency in Destiny PvE boils load outs down to snipers and high power (mostly exotic) heavies. Shotguns and fusions are used situationally and often switched for a snipers when killing bosses. I can respect people for using shotguns for add control but there are often better options. I don't have much issue with D2's scheme. Most of my add control kills involve a primary in Destiny with a special being reserved for bosses after my heavy is spent. I see D2 loadouts as two engagement ranges where I have ample ammunition to transition seamlessly from mere add control to lieutenant duty to boss DPS. I mean a shotgun shell currently in D1 is roughly 10-15% of your special inventory that comes out to about 12-19 shots for that exotic hunter HC ( I honestly hope it's only hunter exclusive for the beta)
-
I enjoy it. In D1 I never had a real need to use my special weapon except for the bosses. With the new setup, I run a scout rifle as my kinetic, an auto rifle as my energy, and a rocket launcher as my heavy. Scout rifle lets my take enemies out from a distance and when they rush me I can switch to my auto rifle can kill them effectively. I can use my rockets for bosses and gold bars. I was able to solo the entire strike up to the boss (my team was exploring the map) using that load out.

....your edit stole my idea dude

Its a total dumpster fire in PvE

I actually like it a lot in PVP. It's a shitfest for PVE tho. Prime example for the to wake up and separate PVE and PVP especially in regards to loadouts.
