Thanks for the Beta. It convinced me not to buy D2

I'll keep this short Weapon slot changes for PvP also being for PvE are stupid and unfun There is better PvP out their and a a good portion of your playerbase doesn't care about Destiny PvP. Stop screwing with PvE for the "balancing of PvP. No one cares about "PvE Rebalance" we want to be able to carry a shotgun and a rocket launcher period. not 2 rifles. in PvE D2 should have been a no brainer, but somehow you screwed it up and with 6 weeks left it's too late to fix it There are other Destiny like games coming out so we all have a choice now.

Boy you know things are grim when folks that complained about Destiny 1 for nearly 3 years, play the beta to the sequel, and give feedback saying that they aren't buying the sequel... ... and would rather continue playing the original. *grabs popcorn, smiles*

    • PvE PvP PvE PvP blah blah blah Both sides its what makes destiny. We? Who's we? How dare you generalize us in your post! Dont include yourself if that's all you have to say. D1 we have 3 teirs with primary, special and heavy D2 has 2 teirs primary primary and power By losing a teir you lose a type of shooting engagement. Primary is still a primary the difference in time to kill compared to a sniper shotgun or fusion is the big difference, you're in a tight spot in a raid or in PvP needing to survive take your time spraying at one enemy with the primary and then get killed by other ads and guardians. PvE I can't imagine with the D2 weapon layout being used in a raid or nightfall in D1 wouldn't be fun. PvP this new system where everyone gets a kill if you assisted is pretty dumb and the slow recovery and time to kill isn't fun just results in alot of teamshooting and cleanups. The D2 weapon layout good luck lasting 3 years.

      • Was so torn on preordering for the cool gear, but decided to wait for beta. Now I'm torn on whether to buy D2 at all. I'll keep on eye on the news and updates, but unless Bungie comes out with some drastic changes before launch, I'll pass on buying D2. The beta is HORRIBLE.

        • My journey was a little different... Until 2-14-17: "Destiny 2? Yeah, I'll probably buy it." 2-14-17 to 3-28-17: "Wow, that special ammo patch really messed up the game. Hopefully, they'll fix it, otherwise I might not buy Destiny 2." 3-28-17 to 5-26-17: "WHAT?! Bungie refused to fix the MESS they made of PvP! I refuse to preorder the game until I'm sure the PvE alone will make it worth buying." 5-26-17 to 7-21-17: "Well, now I know why Bungie messed up PvP; they were trying to prepare us for D2's Crucible, which is very different. But it's still a bad sign. I'll play the beta, but it's going to have to be REALLY good, if they want me to preorder the game." NOW: "Holy crap! It's worse than I thought! I pretty much knew Bungie had messed up PvP, but now I see they messed up PvE in the process. I'd have to be a Class-A bonehead to preorder it now!" THE FUTURE: "I saw firsthand how utterly one bad patch can destroy a game. It stands to reason that one GOOD patch can fix one. Because I see potential in the game (graphics, story, environments), I will keep my eyes on it. But for the time being, I will stick to Destiny 1, or other games."

          • Why can't people speak for themselves ? seriously, every post about D2 has to mention about how the entire playerbase just happen to agree with his pov. I actually think the playerbase does care about pvp because there's only so many times you can kill the exact same npc in the exact same place for the exact same loot before you get tired of it. Pvp is what kept D1 going and it's what will keep D2 going.

            •
D2 should have been a no brainer, but somehow you screwed it up and with 6 weeks left it's too late to fix it.
I'm sorry, but I honestly can't agree with that. A great deal of what made Destiny great... well, it still exists in Destiny 2. The beautiful environments, the tough enemies, the varied armaments, and the wildly imaginative space magic. It's all there. And the graphics are what's really time consuming to make, which is why I say (and still maintain) that Destiny 2 has potential to be amazing. Most notably, abilities have been severely defanged, and need some heavy buffing. Right now, I'd say at least a 33% reduction in base Super charge time (setting it at five minutes flat) and at least a 200% increase in super meter boost for each enemy kill. Also, grenades should come back faster, especially since they've been so totally defanged in Crucible. This one change would do a great deal to fix what's wrong, but I can think of a few others. Scouts need to hit a little harder, for instance. And while SMG's shouldn't be too easy to manage (nature of the gun), I can't even reliably hit enemies in the torso up close with one. And I'm sorry to say this, given how salty some players get about entering mid-match, but playing a 4-on-2 or 4-on-1 match of Countdown is neither challenging nor fun. So, defected teammates should be replaced. Bungie has extended the beta to take a harder look at some things. I acknowledge and respect their desire to make Destiny 2 a positive playing experience. Given this, while for now the game is a reluctant pass, I think that the odds are excellent that I will be rejoining the Destiny community at some point. And maybe sooner than I would expect.

            • I kind of feel the same way... I'm still looking forward to the PC beta, and hoping to see improvements I've been wanting to be able to play Destiny with my friends since the first came out, and now finally I'll be able too since it's coming on PC as well... Just hope the game will be worth throwing my money after... And as it seems now... I'm not gonna... At least Anthem looks a little similar... hoping for that to be good, although I'm sceptic about that too, since BioWare haven't made REAL good games since ME3 :(

            • Was upset at first that PC was getting Destiny 2 later then the consoles. Now I'm relieved to see the final product when it comes out on consoles. Beta better be good on PC because I want to try it out for myself to form an opinion based on that experience, but looking at gameplay itself is underwhelming and if won't be fixed, I'll probably be on the fence on buying or not.

            • Yep. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get destiny 2 because of three years of nerfing and not listening. This beta solidified my biggest fears for the game. It's pure garbage. The new load out system, sub classes, pvp, movement. None of it fun anymore.

            • Wait to see how they design enounters around the new system you sack of
You can finish the sentence.
Seriously, 1 Strike isn't at all relative to how the OTHER 98% or so of the game will be like. You are comparing a game that lets you have a HC+Shoty+Rocket VS a game that doesn't with both being built for said systems.
And if you're going to complain about "The game is small AF" Based off of the Beta? IT'S A F!$!% BETA DUDE, If you were a game Designer would you want to spoil everything about your game to the public in a beta?
• I can defend abilities and super issues since those e being addressed but I can't defend the weapon slots. It was made to cater pvp. I see no way at all it benefits pve players. It hinders pve players and the only way for it to be less of an annoyance is boosting reserves. I'm talking 20 at least sniper, shotguns, and fusion rifle ammo in reserves.

Basically. They do realize this thing is next to Overwatch in the Blizzard launcher right? The only saving grace D2 had was it's PvE...and it looks so dull. I expected more than the FPS tower defense from D1. Not impressed. When they changed the weaponry from D1 all i could think was 'why'? that felt like one of the things they got right.

                    • "The PVE game tuning has changed pretty significantly since the Beta build was deployed. The nature of a Beta of this scale requires that it’s based off a build of the game that is now months old. So, in many cases, your feedback is helping us validate changes that were previously made based on internal feedback and playtesting. For example, we too felt that ammo (especially power ammo) was too scarce in PvE. In addition to retuning the drop rates, we built a system that guarantees power ammo drops for you and your Fireteam from certain enemies, giving power weapons a more reliable and predictable role in your arsenal. Other areas where we’ve made significant tuning changes include grenade effectiveness in PvE, Boss vitality, and weapon damage against non-player combatants."
