What's most of your time spent on actually playing or wish you could continually play over and over? Seems like PvP standards rule the game. I could honestly never play PvP and be happy. I know a couple people that solely play PvP and don't like the PvE aspect.

  • Most people who play an MMO do so with the understanding that it's a PvE game - PvP is a minor part of it, if anything. Of course, Destiny isn't exactly typical for an MMO or RPG - just look at all the complaints there were about it year 1 for things that are rather standard in other games of the genre. Stuff like RNG drops in high level PvE events, grinding, and so on. It also used to be a thing that you couldn't hit max Level/Light in vanilla Destiny without doing the Raid, but the players who focused almost entirely on PvP didn't like that. On one hand, it's nice they lessened the grind. On the other hand, it made it easier for more casual players and people who just want to play 20% of the game's content - in reality being Level 29 or 30 in vanilla Destiny's Crucible had no difference; there's no Level advantages outside of IB (and Trials only came around in House of Wolves), after all, so a Level 2's white weapon is still effective on a Level 20. So...yes, overall, with the changes that've been made in the last few years to the game and its content, for all the PvE content added, more changes are made to balance a smaller part of the game, even at the detriment of PvE. I'm glad Destiny 2 will have a separation between PvE and PvP tweaks, I just wish that the weapon system wasn't designed solely for balance in PvP. That and the dumbed down subclass options aren't too appealing.
