So...why don't we (or the Vanguard) die in D2?
Correct me if I am wrong about this.
But Guardians are basically dead things that were resurrected and sustained by the Traveler's Light, given by their Ghosts.
So...
When Ghaul shackles the Traveler and cuts us off from it, and taking all of our light in the process...how do we survive?
Well, plot armor of course, but besides that.
The Vanguard doesnt necessarily have the heavy duty plot armor, so how do they survive having their light taken away?
Why don't they instantly die?

1 Replybecause all of us including the vanguard have the taken king powers, the stormcaller, the shadow shot and the striker i guess, see some abilities come from the void or the storm not the light maybe that power link is just enough to keep us alive to reach where we end up but maybe not enough to fully gain the supers back since the traveler boosts the taken king super powers

2 RepliesWe aren't [i]sustained[/i] by the Traveler. We are working, functioning humans (or robots) that get resurrected or healed by our ghosts. Our connection to the Traveler only makes us superhuman. We could live without it, as long as we never took another bullet in the head.

not all guardians started out dead and not all guardians are vanguards specially when it comes to sunbreaker titans and not all guardians rely on the light of the traveler

Well it's basiclly like say you go on a long jog after that jog your tired and out of breath. In the case here we lose the light but not enough to kill us just tire us out

I don't see the Light as something that keeps Guardians alive, just the the thing that brings them back and gives them powers.

We become regular humans, Awoken, Exos, whatever without the light. No more super powers, no more Fountain of Youth, etc. Without it, we will age and die like normal one life beings and all that-

1 ReplyWe were resurrected by the traveler, and empowered through its Light, but we aren't sustained by it. We're basically going to be reverted to how we were when we started the game initially, no abilities at all, just our (fist/knife/magic force hand thing) and our super basic guns we have on us, because our Guardians weren't smart enough to grab their actual equipment when the City got invaded.

Same reason that Eris is still alive. We become drained of light, but it does not sustain us. Only unless we are killed or our light is completely sucked out, like crota's sword.
