D2: Hunter Subclass - Arcstrider Discussion

Hey everybody! Cyber here! Now we are all aware we are in the preliminary stages of receiving Destiny 2 information especially involving the new Hunter subclass, Arcstrider, but I'd like to share a few ideas and have a discussion with you all. Based on what we know so far The Arcstrider subclass replaces Bladedancer as the Arc Subclass for Hunters. It seems once again it will be focused as a close-quarters subclass. Nothing wrong with this, it seems to be a highly acrobatic and fun Super to use but here's my concern. While Titans gain the good ol' Captain America Shield and Warlocks gain a sword that empowers them to become a Phoenix and rain fire down upon their enemies. The Hunter receives this staff that's extremely limited to range. The new Titan and Warlock supers have both long and close range capabilities while (as far as we know) the new Hunter super is strictly close range. Yes you can flip and move quickly but I don't think it'll be as fast as the Cap Shield or the flames of hell itself. I'm concerned about this my fellow guardians and with concern comes thought, which produces ideas. Here's my take on it. Hopefully this new Hunter subclass will allow us to simply throw the staff towards our enemies in an arc fueled attack. Making it more spear-like in a way. Or possibly throw a lighting bolt like the almighty Zeus himself (may be reaching here lol). I'm just worried about the range capabilities of this new subclass. Yes, Hunters do have golden gun which is strictly a ranged super. But for the sake of this discussion let's focus on this new subclass as I'm curious to know what you all think and what your ideas are. Let's Discuss!

  • This is just one subclass tho. Fists have to be close range too. the new sunsinger (idk name) doesn't seem to be designed for close quarters. Goldy is definitely a ranged super and we don't actually know if blade is only cqc
