Destiny 2......HDR?

I haven't seen any interviewers ask the question....no journalist reporting it....no streamer mention it....and it definitely wasn't in the D2 reveal event. Is there going to be HDR support for Destiny 2? Cozmo? Deej? I'm not getting much traction on Reddit other than a relatively healthy tech talk. I truly hope HDR isn't being ignored....I like it better than 4k alone, if I'm being honest....

  • Mark Noseworthy's response suggested HDR is likely to happen eventually via an update after launch. I'm pleasantly surprised.

    • You can't depend on journalists to ask legitimate, insightful questions. They like to stir up controversy and push console wars nonsense or reiterate for the thousandth time that the console versions will run at 30 fps as though that hasn't question already been clearly answered. It took forever to get the first real question asked about dedicated servers despite latency being the most glaring problem with Destiny 1, possibly the worst running online multiplayer game I've played this generation. It's unsurprising they haven't asked about HDR when they don't ask about even the most glaring and obvious concerns. The fact that Bungie has said nothing about it and it doesn't appear in the beta suggests to me it's not going to be in there, which is a shame. This game would benefit massively from it.

The console needs to support hdr not the games. Hdr enhances the existing images by taking instant samples on dim lighting, lowcolour, etc... And then blends it with another group of samples that have high lighting, high colour etc.. and then you get the love child of that mix. It helps seeing more details/textures in very dark or bright areas.

    • Yeah, I've been wondering about this as well. Personally, I feel like difference between HDR and non HDR is greater than the difference between 4K and 1080p.

    • So what's the deal Bungie? Just lay it out there, so I can keep my console preorder or not.
