I saw it was on sale on the Xbox store.
I get paid tomorrow and it's $42 for the deluxe. I never played the original trilogy but would I enjoy Andromeda? I feel like for $40 it will be an entertaining purchase but would I be missing anything by not playing the originals?
Edit: Thanks for the info guys.
I made my purchase and put almost an hour in before work and it's a pretty fun game so far.

you mean Mass Reject Down syndromeda?

Definitely no need to play the originals but you definitely have to like the genre

It's a pretty good game, you need to play the original trilogy. Not to understand the game but because it's awesome
-
You'd probably enjoy it more since you haven't played the original trilogy.

I rented it for a few days. Really fun gameplay, I actually loved it, even though I didn't get very far. Might buy it one day. (Ive never played the originals)

I'm a little saddened that only the deluxe buyers get the new casual outfit with patch 1.06. :(

it gets a lot of flak (most seems to be unfair imo) but it's a fun game. I love the story and the gameplay. The OG trilogy is referenced at at times but it doesn't affect anything in game

If you never played the original trilogy then yeah pick it up for sure. Maybe it'll get you hooked on ME and not trying to hold the first 3 games to the first MEA. Then maybe buy the originals because they are worth playing.

I would say get it. If you don't like open world RPGs then pass.

No. You wouldn't really be missing anything if you jumped straight to Andromeda. There may be subtle references, but other than that, you wouldn't be missing much. I would recommend the original trilogy if you are beginning to play Mass Effect. Andromeda didn't quite live up to the predecessors. It's still a good game, but not as well done as the original trilogy.^•^
