Since when where sticky gernades op

  • It's since TTK's on guns became lower. It had a buff relative the everything else.

      • So here is the deal You get a grenade before special spawns If you die and lose ammo your only close in option is a grenade Because the other guy might still have shotty ammo

      • People are hating that they are the only thing that has not been nerf and they hate limiting them selves to classes with stickies just so that they get kills with less effort than the other classes.

When people still had reliable access to special ammo----and therefore it was practical to use fusion rifles and shotguns-----running up at someone to throw a fusion grenade at them was a very risky thing to do. You'd either get melted on the way in if the guy has a fusion rifle.....or take a face full of buckshot before you could get away if the guy had a shotgun. But with the special ammo changes....most people no longer carry these weapons. Because they find that they wind up spending sizeable parts of the game with no ammo for them. While sidearms simply don't kill quick enough to deter the stick-nade rusher on the way in....and can't kill them before the grenade detonates after they tag you. So what used to be a high-risk/medium-to-low reward play style....has not been made into a low-risk/high-reward tactic. ...and people are (justifiably) PISSED to now suddenly find themselves relatively helpless against such a cheap tactic. ...and left that way because Bungie STUBBORNLY refuses to address the Crucible's REAL problem. The fact that the game's primary weapons are badly underpowered.

          • The problem isn't the grenades, it's all the crying nerf herders. They got what they asked for, now they have turned to sticky grenades. No matter what they get nerfed, they will continue to get owned and scream nerf.

            Back in year 1 they were balanced because other grenades were very good, kill times were extremely fast and you could die almost as fast as in CoD. Now the kill times are so slow and sticky grenades were never touched, so a one hit kill, regenerating, heat seeking grenade is insanely overpowered. Especially since people often rock 2 stickies by exotics. It's super lame and they are broken right now

          • Because they can. These players are too shortsighted to see the hidden costs of demanding so many nerfs. You nerf something in a loot based shooter, then something else rises up. Right now, it's sticky grenades. Since these tools never learn from history, they will demand nerfs for it only to complain about the next piece of gear that rises up. They are on an endless whining loop. lol. That's why Bungie needs to ignore the Whiner Brigade. They are degrading the game and will never be happy anyway, so why bother listening to them?

          • Because Bungie nerfed all the other close-range killing implements into oblivion, people have naturally gravitated toward the only one that still actually works reliably. Similar principle with Arcblade. Bungie nerfed it slightly, but since they devastated the most reliable counter to it (shotguns), it's effectively stronger than it was before. Moral: if you want players using primaries, buff primaries. Nerfs only drive players away from a given item; you never know what they'll run toward. It's like trying to herd cats. Moral II: Don't herd cats.

            • It's because people are lazy shites and it's easy kills now that the risk of getting shotgunned or deleted with a fusion rifle are almost nil. It's the same thing with sidearms. Sidearms are up right now, but nobody did anything to them. It's just that with Primaries still relatively weak and them being the only remaining Secondary that you'll spawn with ammo for, as well as the fact that for the most part they've got a faster TTK than Primaries.. well, you can see what happened. Decisions were made by Bungie, clearly without a wide enough test pool beforehand, and this is what happened. It's the same with how MIDA was 'OP' for a while. It wasn't OP, it was just the last one to get nerfed so it was OP by comparison. What baffles me more is who the -blam!- thought it was okay to punish people for using the perks on The Last Word. In one of the streams, one of the devs got told to 'aim in and not spam the trigger' when using it. Like.. really, yo? You couldn't figure any better way to balance this?

                I've been using stickies to ohk since Halo combat evolved. Why is this an issue now? Oh yeah, we got to bitch about what kills you most this week

                  Everyone is using them because they don't require much skill and are a 1-hit kill. Remember when Trip mines did not suck and could stick to people? Those took skill and we're fun and rewarding. Bungie just keeps dumbing down and nerfing everything. And people think Destiny 2 will be different; it won't be.

                  Everything else is soooo bad now that they are one of the best weapons to use now. Primaries are irrelevant, you lose special ammo on death, -blam!- it let me use a 1 hit KO nade! Greeeeaaaaat balancing by bungie. They follow the motto "If they use it, nerf it." I would bet sticky nades and blade are next on the list unless they are calling it quits to work on D2. Because it wouldn't be a Bungie PvP patch without nerfing blade!

                  • Because close to every other ability/weapon/counter to them have been nerfed. Taking away special ammo has made it a low risk, high reward manoeuvre.
