Let's take a break from meta talk and bring up a different topic: GUNSMITH

Ranking Up:
No one does the test weapons anymore. Why? Because the weapons you get from ranking up are usually very disappointing ESPECIALLY when you consider how many test weapons and how much time it takes to rank. So here's my suggestion: Every three rank ups starting at rank 8 included, allow us to create our own weapon from the available gunsmith arsenal. We choose the weapon and what perks we want on it from the available perks that certain can roll with and when armsday comes, he gives you your weapon. In this case, these specially made weapon will not have interchangeable perk trees. What you choose is what you get. If this is implemented and you are already above rank 8 in gunsmith, you can automatically redeem one weapon from him as a reward for your work. It would be a nice incentive and a cool way to bring back actual forging by the gunsmith instead of making him the middle ground in the delivery system. However, the normal rank up packages will still be in place even on the three rank ups.
Reforging:
I've been thinking about this part for a while... my idea about allowing us to construct our own weapons from his overall stock still stands; I would really like that added in. However, I forgot to account for all the other weapons in the game that don't come from foundries. What about those? OH I KNOW! Reforg- Wait, last time they tried that it kind of got out of hand. It was so easy to do, so cheap - but at the same time really risky. You could be spending such a long time and so many resources just trying to get that perfect roll. You could be one perk off and want to reforge just to lose all your progress. On the other hand, every single person was doing to it. It was running rampant with the same weapons everywhere because of how inexpensive reforging was. So here's my proposal: The Gunsmith will give you two options on a weapon: complete reforge and partial reforge. Complete reforge does how it sounds: it completely reforges every column of the weapon you choose. Partial reforge reforges only a chosen column of the weapon. Complete reforge is basically the same thing as HoW reforging currency-type wise. It'll reRNG every perk on a weapon AND the kind of planetary material used to upgrade it for a helpful amount of glimmer, motes of light, and weapon parts. The main difference is that in comparison, it would be considerably more expensive so instead of standing at the gunsmith for thirty minutes, you actually have to go out and farm currency to WORK for the weapon you want to receive. Partial reforge will cost less than Complete reforge, however only if you partially reforge it only once. To add to that though, the cost of partial reforge would include a good amount of whatever planetary material is used for said weapon. Want numbers? Here you go: Complete Reforge:
5000 Glimmer 20 Weapon Parts 15 Motes of Light
Partial Reforge:
Primary-perk column:
3750 Glimmer 10 Weapon Parts 10 Planetary Resource 7 Motes of Light If Double-perk column:
4500 Glimmer 15 Weapon Parts 15 Planetary Resource 10 Motes of Light

Utility-perk column:
3000 Glimmer 10 Weapon Parts 5 Planetary Resource 5 Motes of Light If only Double-perk column:
2500 Glimmer 5 Weapon Parts 5 Planetary Resource 5 Motes of Light

Scopes: 1500
OBVIOUS NOTE: Only available to weapons that are non-exotic, non-raid, non-trials, non-IB, non-RoI weapons -along with any other weapons with set-in-stone perks.

I realize that this kind of update is a bit extensive so late into Destiny 1, but I'm leaving this here as more of a stepping stone for how a gunsmith like vendor should behave in Destiny 2.
