Bungie, can I have a little symmetry?
I main a hunter. Almost every set of hunter armor is horribly asymmetrical. I see the other classes armor and get so jealous of how symmetrical their armor is. Especially titans.
When the Days of Iron armor came out I saw the warlock and titan armor sets and they were beautiful. Then I saw my hunter's ONE armored shoulder and felt betrayed. The worst part is I really like the design of the ornamented DoI gauntlets, but I wish the shoulder armor was on both shoulders.
Every raid set has always had one side favored more than the other. Yes the Wrath of the Machine armor is symmetrical but that's an ugly armor set.
Now with the Vault of glass Ornamented armor out, it only cements my belief that whoever is making hunter armor at bungie hates symmetry. Giving us an awesome series of lights on one arm and a piece of vex junk on the other? WHY?!
TL;DR Please, Bungie, can I just have a set hunter arms that are symmetrical?

Like other people have said, it's because of the way Hunters would fight. Titans are symmetrically armored because they're basically supposed to be bricks on legs and get hit by everything.

Hunters just typically aren't the symmetrical sort of people. Plus I think it's because of the way they aim, you kind of aim across your chest to the left so anything shooting at you straight on is going to hit the left arm. Therefore the left arm/shoulder normally has more armour (even though it has no impact in game).

Its because the armored arm is the melee arm. Wound that and we have nothing good left.
