Tails of the Dragon Slayer -- Episode I: Shin's Find

So, I started doing this earlier, but then I stopped. So I'm starting up again and sending you guys the first two! Part two will be in a seperate thread because, well, it's a different part of the story. Without further ado, here are the Tails of the Dragon Slayer: I saw it happen. I saw Shin Malphur kill Dregen Yor. Shin fired three solar bullets from his hand cannon into Yor. He never raised his cursed gun, Thorn, in defense; he just stood there. Two shots put him on the ground, just before Shin walked over, fired another bullet into Yor’s head, and said the words that live on forever with his hand cannon: “The Last Word. Yours…Not mine.” Neither Shin nor Yor saw I was there, and why would they? I was a little girl hiding from a Thrall in the bushes. I guess that’s why it made sense for Yor to be there. After Shin had done the deed, I screamed. I never saw a Guardian kill another Guardian before. Weren’t they supposed to be the people who protected us? Why did this Guardian use an ability that turned his gun into a blaze to kill his brethren? I simply couldn’t understand it. When I screamed, Shin instantly turned around, and he walked toward the bushes where I was hiding. My heart slowly beat faster and faster as he approached. My breathing quickened. I almost screamed again, as he pushed the leaves aside to find me, a small girl at the age of six curled up in a ball. Shin took off his helmet and asked, “Hello, there. What’s your name?” I curled up tighter. I didn’t want to answer him. “It’s okay. Everything’s going to be alright. Where are your parents?” “They’re dead!” I cried. “The Hive Man killed them!” “You mean Dredgen Yor? He won’t be causing any more trouble, ‘cause he’s dead now.” I uncurled a little to look up at Shin. He had this look of comfort on his face, and I instantly knew that he wouldn’t hurt me. That was the Hive Man that he killed. He picked me up, like I was his child. “What’s your name?” Shin asked again. “My name is Pari,” I replied. “I will take care of you, Pari.” Shin whispered in my ear. “I won’t let anything happen to you.” That was the last thing I heard, before I drifted off to sleep.

  • Huh... I'll admit, this is an interesting concept. It plays on the lore and gives a good backstory to the character and makes Shin seem more human. Nicely done
