Paradox 2 Part 1 (Third POV)

James aimed his staff’s blade in front of him as he walked down the dark corridor. He turned left and paused. He heard footsteps coming above him and paced back a little. 2 Dregs fell from above and shot two shock bolts at him. James took the hit and groaned in pain as he jabbed at the Dreg that shot him, killing the Dreg on his left. The Dreg on his right stepped back as James did a two step forward, slicing the Dregs waist in half. His clothing and parts of his hands and face where now covered in Fallen blood. James then stepped through 2 laser beams that crossed diagonally. 3 Dregs then came from the ceiling and a Vandal from the left side. He pushed the Vandal to the right as he did a back spin while slicing his staff at the Dregs head, disembodying them permanently. He then jabbed his staff back, and electrified the Vandal. He then deactivated the blade and the electrical portion of his staff and proceeded down the hallway into a large room that had metal boxes scattered around with a few Dregs and Vandals watching the area. James dragged his staff over a power cord, cutting the electricity. It was now pitch black and he dipped both ends of the staff in some oil. He quickly struck both sides of the metal staff onto the floor letting the tips of his staff catch to flames. He then rapidly spun his staff on the floor creating sparks as the Fallen troops noticed him. He advanced towards the Fallen as a few Vandals approached him in return. James then kicked back the Vandal in the middle, jumped up in mid-air and slammed his oiled staff on the ground as fire started to consume the floor. The Fallen hissed at him as he stood there waiting patiently for advancement. A Drag rushed at James as he quickly spun his staff behind his back, burning the Dreg. He then walked towards the ground through the flames. The Vandals shot at James, but at they shot him he deflected the pieces of shrapnel back at them. His clothes now covered in ash, smoke, blood and ether. He proceeded into another large room. This time no one was in it. He looked around the room that was covered in oil, water, metal flooring, and the Red pipes as before. He looked up and saw 20 Fallen clinging onto the ceiling. “Shit.”James mumbled as they fell down from above surrounding him. He then split his staff in half and activated the electrical tips and dashed at them. He struck a Vandal to his left once in the chest then tripping the Vandal with his foot followed up with a strike to the back of the head causing the Vandal to be electrocuted to death. Regaining his posture James followed up with a strike to the back of the Vandals head. He then re-gripped his staffs handle so it was facing horizontal. He punched the Vandal in the face and followed up with a wrench hand that had his staff hit the Vandals face. James slammed both poles into the ground creating a wave of energy going straight forward. He counted 3 Fallen left as he ran at them, side onto the metal floor, bashing one of their legs followed up with a head shot. James then tossed himself as he rolled off a Fallen’s back, jamming his staff through a Dreg’s back. He looked around the room, looking at the dead Fallen then down at his scorched hands. His hands, burnt, cut, electrified and covered in blood. James strapped his spit staff onto each side of his waist as he walked out of the room, through a narrow corridor that has a giant fan facing him and out into the snowy lands of The Divide. As he walked through the Divide, he could see Fallen Skiffs flying overhead. His boots crushed the snow that fell from the night sky. “Night already?” James thought as he walked slowly through the Divide and to his Jumpship in a nearby Sector. As he walked to the nearby building that is made of stone. He was glad that there where no more Fallen. Skiffs never fly so close to the surface, well typically they don’t. They have on occasion. He pulled out the Khvosotov he found earlier and admired the work. He might use it for scrap parts and build it into his own gun. The gun was old and tattered. The scope was busted, but showed some promise. It was a black auto rifle. He assumed it had to be a high rate of fire auto due to how light weight the gun felt to him. He strapped it back onto himself and smiled as he walked into the building. James walked through the many rooms that where covered in tile and tv screen. He then walled down a hallway where his ship resides. The scene seemed to be clear to him as he walked in. Riksis then crawled out of the wall. “SHIT!” James cried as he ran quickly behind a pole and pulled out the rifle. “I hate guns” he groaned as he aimed in on the Archon and started to fire. The Archon glared at James and fired hot shrapnel at him. James then peaked on the left side of the poll and shot a few more rounds into the Archon. He clicked the trigger one more time and realized he was out of bullets. “No no no no!” James cried as he sprinted to the other column and pulled out his staff and connected the ends of his staff and dipped it in oil once more setting it ablaze and sliding to the Archon. Riksis lowered his bottom right arm, back handing James into the wall, as he flew back, he saw a black cloaked figure that glowed yellow. James then hit the wall, knocking him unconscious. The figure created a solar shield around them both and revived James. James awoke and saw the figure. It appeared to be masculine mesomorph male, Titan perhaps….no…he has never seen a Titan wield Solar before….Warlock? No….to masculine….Hunter? None of the above…The figure stared at James. He wore a worn black cloak covering his face only showing his gold colored eyes and scar running from his left cheek to the side of his lip. He wore the Trails of Osiris year 3 armor without the helmet. “Well aren't you going to get up and help me out Boy!” The figure hissed at James. James arose to his feet, snatching his staff and running towards Riksis. The figure then manipulated time, slowing down Riksis, letting James jump up in mid-air, stabbing Riksis in his face, dragging his blade through the middle of the Archon, slicing him wide open. James was now covered in Fallen blood. It boiled on his skin as he turned to face the figure. “I had him!” James hissed angrily at the figure. “I think not. There was only one timeline where you would have survived, which was the one where I came in here and helped you. You would have been knocked unconscious and blasted to death if it wasn't for me.” The figure spoke calmly. James gripped his head and saw his own blood come down his forehead. “Who are you…why did you help me…how did you do that time thingy…?”James said sparingly. “That does not matter at this point, you shouldn’t be out here with nothing but a staff boy.”The Figure then spoke once more. James groaned, his head ached painfully as he walked towards his Arcadian Class 1 Jumpship. “I think it would be safer if I flew…”The figure said as he lended support to James. James growled as he climbed into his ship, “Not a scratch on her…not a scratch.” The figure smiled as he climbed in and took the pilot seat. As the figure flew the ship, James looked at him. “Can you please tell me who you are!” James said annoyed. “If I told you, you wouldn't believe me.” The figure said as he steered into The Hanger. James chuckled, “Please, Im the son of Rez-“ The figure finished his sentence, “-zyl Azzir. I know who you are James Azzir. Or do you prefer Stryker?” James groaned, “So my Dad sent you didn't he?” The Figure laughed, “What no no no no. I saved you because I'm interested in you.” James froze, “Eh sorry sir but Im 15 and taken.” The Figure then hit James, “Not like that dumb ass! Interested in your fighting style and I see potential in you” James rolled his eyes, “And why should I value your opinion?’ The Figure parked James’s ship and said, “I’m Osiris.” James body went cold, for the person who just saved him was no other then the Traveler. “Are you coming out or are you going to be stored away in the Hanger?” Osiris asked with a grin. James crawled out, his body still frozen and his lips cold. “Oh c’mon James, its not a big deal.” Osiris laughed as he walked out of The Hanger and into the main plaza of The Tower. James stood in the middle of the plaza and looked at the giant white orb in the sky and pointed at it and screamed,” How?!” Osiris chuckled, “That is me alright, however I am just the embodiment of that orb you see there.” James then asked, “But there where hundreds of you…well Travelers I mean…how are you the embodiment if so many come before?” Osiris shook his head, “There where not hundreds before me, there where 7 before me- 6 theoretically but I digress. 100,000 years of light baring. We aren't the same Traveler. There is a cycle. The Reincarnation, The Disciple, and The Legacy. The Legacy becomes the Reincarnation and the cycle repeats. I am the only Traveler to stall the cycle due to the fact that I have no disciple. I’ve been stalling for the past 3,000 years. I think you might be able to continue the cycle.” James shook his head as he left The Tower and headed to his home “Sir, I think you got the wrong guy, I am no light-bearer.” Osiris teleported next to the boy and laughed. “James, you can. I can feel it! Light courses through your veins! Every bit of you has it locked away, you just need to let it free!” James sighed as he rested his head on the front door of his home, “Listen, I’d love to but my dad wouldn’t approve…” Osiris, “He needs to listen to reason that’s all.” James then singled Osiris to be quite as he entered his home as he looked around in the darkness.
