Community discussion

Lately I've been getting tired of destiny, not because of playing it too much.. But because of the way it's changed. This game has become nothing more than a constant beta, changing things here, there, now, soon, and repeatedly. It's never just be left to itself... I'm never truly Balanced and finished. One reason is tolerance... Which many of the 7 million destiny players do not have. Things become too potent, instead of buffing the worse to account for this, the majority goes to just nerfing it. But forget the destiny community for now, Bungie has made it clear as you now know, weapon balance can never be achieved for destiny 1. They constantly go off of what's used the most, then choose to Nerf that, instead of finding out why it's used the most. Destiny 2 is only 7 months away... No matter what, I'm getting it, I'm saving for the collectors edition. However, I'm not sure what to expect... One reason why destiny is in a constant Nerf cycle is due to not having been able to test all gear. With the destiny 2 beta, I'd like to be able to test everything Bungie, not just a little. I and many will agree, having a constant beta or constant meta changing monthly post Launch, isn't what defines a good game nor does it make people want to play it or continue to. I can't tell you how many times I hear about this great new gun, finally finished grinding to get it, they have it be nerfed just days later. That's what I'm talking about, release the game with true balance. Overwatch, Halo 5, Battlefield 1 are all great examples of balance. Balance doesn't mean everything can have the same TTK, there in every game should be some guns that you'd need something a little more potent to compete with. If everything is the same, what's the point of having so many guns? Lastly one thing that would have me sold on destiny 2, is having exotics not only be unique but more infrequent to obtain. They are just too weak and common now. I would love 3 of coin to be removed, I would really enjoy saying to friends when they ask "where did you get that gun, it's so cool and potent" something like "I killed the hardest boss in PVE for this quest to get is gun, or I did the Easter egg or something, you know, worthy of owning an exotic. Exotics should be rare and hard to obtain but in the same sense be good enough to account for that rarity. What are your thoughts Guardians? What would make you get destiny 2? What are your thoughts on the constant meta changes? Thanks for reading. -Mr B

  • If they don't separate PvP and PvE, and get dedicated servers then I'm not getting it

Agreed but I'd like to add this. "completely separate PvE from PvP"

      • The same people will be playing Destiny 2. The same people that cry nerf. The same YouTubers and streamers will play Destiny 2 and the same thing will happen.
Where have you been?... Have you forgotten?... This is exactly what happened to year 1 with the Gjallarhorn. It promoted "Elitism" on PvE activities such as Nightfall Strikes, Raids, and Prison of Elders challenges. This is something that Bungie negates happening to their game. They want everybody to enjoy their game regardless of what weapons you use in a particular activity. They don't promote Elitism or Elitist group to dominate their game. They want everybody to enjoy and experience a fun game.

            • Y2/y3 and having pve balance linked to pvp balance are just some of the major issues this game has suffered from. Sure, y1 may have been flawed, but it wasgenuinely fun to play. Y2 has been extremely lacking in the fun department. Grinding is only fun when you grind for things that matter and make a difference. Light level, elite exotics, elite tier endgame raid gear mattered in y1 and added a sense of power progression and reward to the game that y2 has completely lacked. And wost of all, bungie refuses to acknowledge the issues or state they will be addressed in D2. So im not sure how people could state they are getting sick of how destiny is, and in the same breath say theyre willing to pre-orderD2. Nobody's getting fired, no gamechanging decisions like separating pvp from pve have been announced, hell- they can't even publically admit their own mistakes. If they can't even do that, then what hope do you really think there is that the same people doing the same job in a different version of the game won't mess up THIS time? I cannot in good conscious commit to buying D2 or preordering it. I need to see how it pans out, just like i did with roi. And i fully expect that D2 will be a major letdown as well.
