What the f*** happened to golden gun?
Is it just me or is golden gun trash now? Even with deadeye on there is literally Zero aim assist. Now I would be ok with this if gunslinger wasn't already nerfed to shit. Tripmines got a double nerf. Throwing knives were nerfed. Gunslinger has no overshield or armor buff once so ever. Swarm grenades are trash. But hey, let's everyone just whine about bladedancer. Gunslinger, in my opinion if far, far worse than blade now and I haven't heard a peep about it. Can we gunslingers get a little love please? [spoiler]if you're gonna troll don't bother. Played my Hunter in Iron Banner a bit today. As long as you're not trying to snipe with it, it works grand. What's your setup?

1 ReplyUmm, you do realize that Golden Gun is not Fully Automatic? You don't need aim Assist on anything that doesn't fire more than one bullet per trigger pull. You literally aim and shot when your target is in your aim. Aim Assist is meant to help when the gun is bouncing around a lot.

2 RepliesI play it exclusively, its been broken even before the patch. Without deadeye AND over the horizon on it has zero range. You cannot run combustion as it will simple shoot a ghost bullet 50% of the time... if people are not in Handcannon range it will not kill them is my experience. I usta run combustion but now i cannot.. so yes something is wrong.

I run double trips and heavy Dis./Strength so it's easy to finish off a trip hit with a knife or with 1-2 shots from a primary. Yes Gunslinger has been nerfed to shit but I sully on. This new meta is crap though, I hate being forced to use a specific special just to stay competitive.

gunslinger are on the come back since Blade is total pants now, lot more golden guns in the Crucible yesterday, I was playing mayhem rumble though

I love being a max armor Titan and surviving only one type of grenade. The trip mine!! I will purposely stand in a trip mine just "for fun" because I know it won't kill me, sad😞

It also has a new Exotic Helmet that increases its sight when aimed down and also helps with the duration. 3 shots and boom, you got the explosive perk up? That is fkn great for Mayhem cause you can et doubles here and there and on rare occasions more. A GoldenGun can out gun a Sunbreaker before he even released his first hammer, unless he charges you.

I love the gg seems absolutely fine to me. Was using it today in mayhem rumble most fun class in my opinion.

28 RepliesThere is nothing wrong with the super imo, the zero extra armour and low duration is trade off for ranged attacks. But I agree the tripmines and throwing knife was one of the dumbest nerfs. It just shows Bungie doesn't know anything about balance, just a nerf everything to the ground mentality.

1 ReplyI have 45,000 kills on gunslinger and can confirm that yes, gold gun can be extremely messed up about 20% of the time. Sometimes it has 0 aim assist, sometimes it feels like it has too much from the same distance, and it also has way too many ghost shots. I used to get mad and save all the clips of gold gun bugging out and shooting ghost shots, but I got sick of that about a year ago and just accepted it for what it is. This is a bungie game after all.

It probably has to do with connections, especially the p2p connection. Some games it's awesome. Other games it sucks.

I believe it has been affected by the Handcannon changes. As using it is basically using a Handcannon on Rhino Steroids. It looks like the accuracy & handling has changed. Omolon Handcannons also are in a tough place too, I have noticed a dramatic shift in their accuracy. Not in the good way.

I love Gunslinger. IMO it's more fun than most other classes. You're right, it isn't the best but its definitely not underpowered. I'd say it's just really easy to -blam!- up the super. Pop it too close to everyone and watch yourself get sniped/team-shot. Activate too early and everyone will hide. Timing, range, and precision are key to being a good gunslinger.
