Well, here is part three. I'm glad to be posting these stories more frequently now, and this is because it is the weekend, but don't expect the next part too soon. The two ships stopped a few meters above the ground as two guardians transmatted out. William pulled out his ghost and summoned his sparrow. "We're gonna want to head towards the array - there is some king activity by the hive nest and Rasputin.", he said. Halberd nodded. "Lets find out who would slay two barons." They arrived in the array amidst chaos. A furious firefight between king and hive forces was taking place as a reaver captain traded blows furiously with a cleaver knight, with hammering blows and powerful strikes. Two thrall fought over the twisted body of a dead dreg. Vandals, acolytes, and a wizard blasted each other with arc and shredder, grenade and line rifle. Halberd grew excited, as she often did in battle, but William was reluctant as always to engage living targets like fallen, like the relative pacifist that he was. "I'll take the Hive" he said, "You can take the fallen." Halberd was slightly confused about his request but nodded in affirmation. She pulled out her knife, concentrated for a moment, and suddenly her body was wreathed in bright blue Arc energy. She sprinted over to the vandals sniping at the hive and lunged. One vandal couldn't even react as the knife tore through his armor, nearly cutting him in half. Another was thrown against a metal railing as Hal delivered a powerful, electrically charged kick, shocked and stunned. As a stealth vandal jumped and uncloaked, she channeled a powerful wave of arc along the ground that just about vaporized it. The stunned vandal against the railing gasped as another bolt tore through her midsection, vaporizing it and killing her. Three vandals dead in about five seconds. William had never seen a guardian move so [i]fast[/i], making short work of the fallen as if in a deadly dance. He shuddered and made his way over to the hive. The wizard shrieked as a magnetic grenade stuck to her head and vaporized her shields and body in an explosive void blast. William hammered an acolyte's face with his fist and vaporized half of it's entire body with a force barrier. He took out his sidearm and slid into the second acolyte. It shrieked as he punched it, pulling the trigger at the same time and hitting it with not only the full force of his fist but also the strength of the bullet. He pumped the hive with another shot, disintegrating it into sooty ash. He sprayed a second acolyte with his pulse rifle, pumping it full of lead and making the acolyte disenegrate into scraps of bone and ash. A third acolyte's skull burst into fiery ash as a solar bullet from the sidearm burst it. He turned his attention to the knight, still laying in the captain with his cleaver, and threw another magnetic grenade. The small explosive detonated and shattered the knight's armor in three different places. The captain saw an opening and stabbed one saber right through the knight's chest. As it groaned, the pirate struck again and knocked the knight's armored head from his shoulders with one stroke. The captain glared and before William could stop it, the scavenger ran towards the other end of the array, roaring at the two guardians and making his escape. Suddenly, a shot rang out. It rang with dread, it seemed, a foul bullet that pierced the armor and poisoned the pirate. The captain staggered backwards and gasped as a dark figure stepped from the shadows, holding a jagged, dark object in it's hand. The figure shot the captain with it's weapon in the head and burst it's helmet like a ripe tomato, ether shooting out like a geyser. Halberd jumped down from the railing that she had been killing fallen on and stared at the dark figure. Another figure walked out of the shadows, and then William realized: [i]Holy Traveler[/i] he thought [i]They're guardians.[/i]
