Students at the University of Michigan have taken safe spaces to the next level: they've demanded campus officials provide them with “a permanent designated space on central campus for Black students and students of color to organize and do social justice work.”
NO WHITES ALLOWED!
This totally reasonable demand is but one of several requests made by protesting and screeching even as the university builds a $10 million dollar center for black students.
But, obviously, that $10 million dollar safe space is not good enough:
In their demands, students explain why the new black student center is not enough, “because we want a space solely dedicated to community organizing and social justice work specifically for people of color.”
“We want documentation of past, current, and future student activism and this should be a permanent space that is staffed, and has resources for students to organize and share resources,” the demand letter states.
The Michigan Review accurately reported:
“To advocate for the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion, while simultaneously calling upon the University to sanction these spaces on campus is both unprincipled and laughably regressive,” it added.
No word yet on if they will require separate water fountains.

My problem with this is that it encourages segregation, the very thing most of the civil rights movement was built to destroy
-
Member when they didn't let blacks in to University? Member the 50's? Seems to me like its you that needs the safe space, princess.
-
MLK and everything he stood for is now identifying more with white conservatives and less so with black leftists. Go figure lol
-
I thought we got rid of "separate but 'equal'" decades ago.
-
Democrats have succeeded in getting blacks to segregate themselves.

Edited by WILLtheKILLA5: 2/23/2017 8:01:53 PMWhy do people what segregation again? Why the -blam!- are people going backwards? Why are so many damn people so -blam!-ing triggered that a man won the election beating out the obviously corrupt crone. I mean seriously when he won, people lost their damn minds and their bowels spraying their shit into everything they disagree with. Edit: Added a colorful rant
-
"Segregation as long as it's equal." Lmao, same justification for the Jim Crow laws..
-
If someone there tried to get a no black people allowed space they would still be racist
-
Democrats are -blam!-ing ingenious. They have actually coerced minorities to want segregation so they don't have to look like the bad guys anymore. Greatest feat in the modern world for sure. Their plan is finally coming to fruition. Give it another 50 years and they may have brainwashed them enough to want slavery again.
-
Aren't modern liberals tolerant and diverse, why would some of them want the return of racial segregation? 🤔 that seems extremely racist 🤔🤔
-
Do you want segregation back? Cause that's how you get segregation back.
-
People died to end segregation, and now they want it back... GG Millennial's, your officially backwards and kinda retarded.
-
So basically solving racism with racism
-
If that's what they want, then I want "whites only" places, with campus restaurants that have signs saying "No coloreds allowed".
-
Why am I not surprised? People are retarded
-
I love how many black people, and organizations like BLM, are so regressive that in an effort to reach "equality" they are regressing back a time of race segregation. Remember folks, black people can't be racist.
-
Muck Fichigan?
-
Wow, White folks don't even have to do anything! Blacks are already segregating themselves.
-
Okay, that's -blam!-ing supid.
-
If the building is for activism, and activism targets aspects of the whole society, why should any group be targeted/excluded?
-
Ladies and gentlemen, I present stupidity in its finest form -_-

White people have to understand what it is like to be oppressed. I laud the UOM for doing the right thing and being on the right side of history.
-
I feel like most the people complaining about this are pro not having to serve gays.
-
That's actually legitimately racist.
