More specifically, it needs a range buff. Let's put the Thorns past aside and remember that at the end of the day, it's an exotic weapon. The thorn was perfectly balanced when it was nerfed post year 1. The range nerf made it super weak to the point where even the last word can outgun it in the further hand cannon ranges. I'm not asking for a damage buff, or a stability buff, or a buff to its venom. I'm just asking that it be given a bit more range so it can perform well in hand cannon range.

You are only really going to be killing low armor guardians without damage falloff(unless you are getting multiple headshots). The only way to make this any better is to go with aggressive ballistics and then the range becomes very low and fall off damage is very quick. At this point you might as well use the last word. There are times I get 1 head shot and 4 body shots and are still watching them live through the burn that is how bad the damage fall off affects this gun. For an exotic though this guns total stats are very weak(primary and hidden). If the hidden stats are going to remain so low then giving the gun more range should be fine. If we are not going to get more range then the hidden stats are terrible and need a buff.
