To put it simply, sidearms are not impossible to counter and they are not the only useable special weapon in the game. They are the most used weapons right now because of people running NLB or because they suck too much with a primary and need to rush everyone they see. Yes i know how strong sidearms are, i used them to counter shotgunners in the last meta. I heard people constantly call them trash or a waste of an exotic slot, now everyone is scrambling for a god roll because their precious Matador 64 doesn't work as second sniper rifle with constant ammo. There are plenty of primary weapons that are perfectly fine right now, if people stopped acting against the balancing that Bungie has been trying to do then maybe we wouldnt have a meta. Pick up a primary and stop needing a crutch to win in a casual shooter.
