Raid teams with strict requirements

I get why some guardians make these posts on LFG: "Be good or get kicked", "Must be experienced", etc. It sucks being in raid groups that wipe over and over and over again. I have been in plenty of those. With that being said I can definitely carry my own weight but usually avoid those groups with strict requirements. It just gets old hearing the moaning and groaning or fighting after 1 or 2 wipes. Well earlier today I was pressed for time and just wanted to get into a GOOD raid group at aksis phase 2 that was doing the challenge. So I joined a raid group and had the previous conversation with the fireteam leader. Fireteam leader: "Just let me go over the ground rules before we get started. I don't have a lot of time so I want to get this done quick. The way I am going to be doing this is that you get one warning then 3 strikes and your kicked." Me: "That sounds generous. I don't have a problem with that since I also don't have a lot of time and have to go to work soon. Hopefully we can get this done in one or two tries." So we all choose sides and cannon assignments and get started. Within a few seconds of starting I notice shanks teleporting everywhere. Somebody dies and we wipe. I check the fireteam connections and it's the fireteam leader that is red bar. We try again. Fireteam leader dies before the first damage phase. Wipe. We give it another try and he dies again. I laugh and just back out of the game and shut off my xbox. **I forgot to mention that before we entered the raid the Fireteam leader(LFG poster) had to promote somebody else to fireteam leader because he said: "For some reason I don't have hard mode unlocked." This should have been a red flag, but I chose to stick around anyway. After we get into the raid he demands to be promoted to leader again. I guess he wanted to be able to boot people of they don't perform up to his standards. Anyway, I was more amused than upset. Hilarious that a guys with such high performance standards can't even stay alive. Typical experience for me on LFG, especially late in the week.

  • I've had the same problem a few times. I see some teams requiring challenge emblems which is pointless imo when someone could of been carried and got the emblem.

    • I post 395+, experienced. Not looking for pro gamers, but Im still a bit inexperienced at the raid, know what Im doing but make some mistakes. I need the players, to be as good or better than me. When I get a bit better, Ill either just join groups or post with no requirements.

The first thing the leader said as I got into the party was, "I won't pick apart the weapons you are all using." So I looked, we were on vosik part two when I joined, he had zhalo, quantiplasm and the raid rocket equipped, and he wanted to have an opinion about what everyone else was using. We got through vosik after a couple of tries and it really wasn't a smooth run. Then we got to the siege machine, and this guy was calling wipe the moment anybody died. Like I mean okay if someone dies real early, let's wipe and go again, but we're at the spider tank, we've lost one man, let's keep going. No wipe, and the other guys were doing it. I had to leave. Couldn't imagine aksis going well after that. I don't mind there being some minimum requirements, I mean if you're really not raid ready, people shouldn't have to carry you in a lfg group. But I can see how it would be very hard to attempt your first raid, when everyone is asking for you to know what you're doing. They should probably put a Sherpa section in recruitment.

        • People with high requirements are usually not confident in their own abilities. Often even when I meet the requirements I refuse to join games where the requirements are unreasonable.
