All this talk of it returning, it got me thinking. Is the Vex worth it's exotic slot? Right now, it's an "EFFECTIVELY" an auto rifle that actually has a better TTK than most, but can't get stability options to make it into a laser. Limiting it to close range because of it's low stability and accuracy. All things considered it's not that bad, but it'll usually get outshot because of how close you have to get so that it's inaccuracy doesn't kill you first. To top it off, it doesn't get much ammo. Addressing it's stats? Here's what I would do to it. -A range increase. This would increase it's accuracy. -A slight decrease in stability would make it so you need more thumb-skill to take advantage of that newfound accuracy. It's got an impressive TTK, and while I think making it more accurate would help it out, I don't want to turn it into a laser. -Remove Send It for a different range boosting perk (such as Rifle Barrel). It already has ammo trouble as it is. Buff it's reserve a bit. An actual exotic function: Right now, it's just a Fusion Rifle pretending to be an auto rifle. You use it like an auto rifle, it has the same-ish effective range as a bullet hose (without counter balance), and it's TTK is.. well not that special, GOOD, as it rivals the Meta pulse rifles. But if it were to return there's not much reason to use it over a legendary auto rifle in it's current state, especially if Auto's get buffed (in a significant way). The idea I was thinking of... "A Casual Loop...". Shots fired from this weapon re-travel their trajectory in reverse shortly after being fired. Shots returned to the shooter return to the magazine/reserve. (Basically, if your own shots hit you, you get the ammo back). Maybe throw in Armor Piercing rounds for shinenigans (in place of Light Weight, or tied into the exotic perk). And I'd say bonus damage to Vex. This could be easily balanced in PvP by making the "Shortly after being fired" aspect long enough that the other player would have to be outright just STANDING there taking hits to be hit by the reverse trajectory (and considering the Vex already has a good TTK, even 1.5 seconds would be long enough), would require some clever use in PvP. But could make it pretty damn good in PvE. I worry that the returning to the magazine might be too much, and would step on the toes of weapons like No Time to Explain or Touch of Malice. So to the reserve might be a better idea. Also, to prevent it from being made broken again (in both senses), separate it from fusion rifles for the purpose of blanket changes. === What would be your changes to the gun, if it were to return, to make it more interesting and worthy of it's exotic slot?
