Bungie ol pal,
I know you are busy dodging the boulders of salt being thrown your way but could I have a moment of your time?
First Curse...
It's supposed to be a longer range hand canon if I understand its function correctly. It's THE friggin exotic perk on the gun if I'm not mistaken.
It's literally the slowest weapon/highest TTK in the game. It's not meant for close ranges.
You knew that taking away CRIT damage from Chaperone was ridiculous and so is taking the range from First Curse.
Please reconsider this
PLEASE!!
Edit: If you agree please add a bump. It ain't hard to get things trending these days and I really do think this was an oversight on Bungies part. Maybe they will fix it.
A guy can dream right?
The range nerf really shouldn't have happened at all. It's not like HCs had great range before. Reducing the falloff cap to 33% and hitting the range was too much. It should've been one or the other. HCs are great now, I'm not disputing that..but they made it so you need rifled & rangefinder more than ever. You still get ghost bullets with Hawkmoon, for example...& uffern with Rifled Barrel. Because the range just isn't there. Personally I think each archetype should have a set range.(a good set range) & boosts from perks like Rifled Barrel are minimized. So HCs are good in their own, & Rifled Barrel Rangefinder is still king but not necessary for consistency & competition.

Bump.
-
Also not on the Last Word cause it already had none. Now sidearm users will just laugh at Last Word users. 15 bullets to wreck a Last Word which you nowadays also have to tap fire cause autofire misses a lot of bullets. Even when you aim.
-
HCs still have too much range. They should be 30m and under.
-
They should honestly increase it's base range by a large amount. While I think they should do it across the whole high impact class, but the First Curse needs a bigger bump, moreso than the others., and remove the range cap on cannons altogether (because guess what? this would have virtually no effect on mid impacts, but great effect on high impacts), Especially since when it comes to range? aim assist aside, basically every high impact hand cannon can out-range the First Curse. Other ways they can help the First Curse.. Increase the effectiveness of it's intrinsic perk to further increase weapon zoom (it's got a built in rangefinder, which increases the zoom factor). Give an optional Perk under Triple Tap for Private Eye instead. Why? Zoom actually plays a HUGE factor in range and falloff. Triple Tap is a great PvE perk, but for PvP not so much, espeically when the intrinsic perk restores ammo on a precision kill. Private eye (which I'm not even sure you can get on a Canon normally) isn't a popular perk though, mostly because of how you have to crouch to use it. They COULD put Rangefinder instead, which is passive instead, but has far less effect than Private Eye in regards to range increasing effect.

First off chaperone should still do precision damage, at least that's what they said on stream but I do agree with first curse buff. I mean it takes weeks to get that gun
-
TFC actually has greater effective range than any HC with its perk active. https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/5u8fsd/updated_analysis_on_handcannon_damage_dropoff/ Also, Chaperone still does crit damage, along with Uni Remote (as long as it's scoped in)

Zero Moon
"A gun comes with a meaning" Shadow - old
I don't think first curse really has anything wrong with it I was using it today pretty crispy it's part of my trials loadout now -
I loved First Curse, but thanks to 'PVP balance' it could never be the weapon that it is on paper, because if it were, it would be a two tap precision weapon.
-
Shouldn't apply to any exotic HandCannons tbh
-
I agree that First Curse deserves some attention. The idea behind the weapon is fun, but it has always been fairly disappointing.
-
-
I got wrecked by that gin last night, I'm gonna give it a shot tonight.
-
Bumpppppp!
-
XD it's so bad. But, at least hawkmoon is back :D
-
-
they should have thought about that first instead of listening to the curse of the crybaby nubes and nerffing all the stuff we all grind to get good rolls on
-
I'm loving how accurate the gun is, but the damage falloff seriously hurts. It's not an oversight though, I wish it was. They're just incompetent. Why not make the range falloff different for all 3 archetypes? Let First Curse and other high damage low RoF hand cannons do full damage outside of the range of other hand cannons. They're meant to hit hard, but having them try and compete against the faster rate of fire ones is just unfair when the playing field is basically even on range.
-
I used first curse for the first time in months yesterday. Weapon is crispy as ever! It will probably be my go to handcannon from now on.

This is true

Speaking of "it's the friggin exotic perk" can we talk about shinobu's vow? That little mistake needs to be undone as well. I feel like it was a non-issue to begin with. At least I personally wasn't repeatedly killed by skip grenades. If anything it is the extra and longer tracking Voidfang axion bolt grenade that is wrecking people not Shinobu's. Though I'm not trying to give bungie a target for the next wrecked exotic.
-
They took critical away from Chaperone? What's the god damn point then?
-
All weapons should cross map. The only thing that should justify getting the shot is recoil and accuracy. Not some damage falloff and ghost bullets.

Eh, at this point I don't even think its debatable that the Judith is better than First curse, at least on paper. Can boost range to 62 using reinforced barrel, drops stability to 2 but thats not far off from the curses base stability of 12. Slap rangefinder on there and now you have about 70 (20% of base 41 range is a boost of 8 unless i'm wrong about rangefinder) Pop a good perk like triple tap or maybe crowd control. And it even has a faster reload than first curse.
