Bungie says "Trials isn't for average Players" so why...

We haven't a System which grants us only Access to Trials if your own regular KD is higher then 1,5? Then I couldn't play Trials and wouldn't be on rage because of losing Matches. I can't play it. In my Opinion would that solve the Problem.
The real funny Trials died together with Year One.
But what do you think? Is that fair for others who want the loot? Or do you think that would reward really good players more then now? Write your Opinion in the Comments AND PLEASE be friendly!

  • Trials is keeping destiny alive right now. If they restricted it the game would die. More then it is now.

Do not question trials... And expect no negative responses... Trials players come in three toxic variants, all of which have their ego attached to the exclusivity of this pathetic farce of a competitive game mode... 1.The grinder: this player is typically an average player who dreams of going to the lighthouse and will grind trials sun up to sundown in hopes of eventually getting that lucky run(some have never even been). This type of player refuses to overtly seek a carry for reasons of pride(even though half of their lucky wins come from being carried). This type of player is completely aware of the absolute absurd amount of time that they have spent away from family and friends, and will attack viciously anyone who suggests that this is acceptable... The mentality here is very toxic... It's basically, "if I had to suffer through it, everyone has to suffer." Like a good gimp, this type loves licking the boots of its master. 2. The professional: Whether it's doing carries for views, or straight up charging for services, these players do not want any kind of competitive integrity added to the game... If Trials is made accessible to the general community, they will no longer be able to exploit the system for supplemental income. Try to mess with anyone's money, and see how they will act, this one is a especially toxic. The cheater: Whether it's general lack of skill and inability to compete in the environment of trials, or just avarice towards its completely broken nature, this type of player relishes the control they have over the emotions and hopes of others.. They are the prototypical byproduct of such a toxic environment and they know that BUNGIE will do very little to moderate their actions. They are the most toxic of the lot. What makes you think if they enjoy toying with people in-game, they wouldn't have an absolute field day on the forums? My summary and a big middle finger. All three of these examples are the absolute extremes, but most possess traits of all three. I believe that two of the three are prone to cheating. The most common trait of all of them is their uncontrollable need to remind everyone how much better they are, and everything that they deserve for their hard "work". I would literally rather be dragged behind a truck, by my testicles than ever associate with human beings of this caliber. They are the absolutely worst of the worst among us. If there is anything positive to be taken away from an entire game mode rendered completely unaccessible to 98% of the community, is that Bungie has made a perfect pen for the swine to roll around in their own shit, while the rest of us play standard crucible for fun and rewards. I actually wish trials was up 24/7. Bring on the hate, I don't care, every single one of you knows I'm right...

      • Everybody apart from tpp few percent should just quit trials (at least for a couple of weeks). Lets see what happens when every trials match is really good players v really good players. Will these players embrace the challenge or will they complain about trials being too sweaty? Answers on a postcard. (I think we all know the answer).

        • If you look on destiny tracker it shows your win chance for that match. I help my friend get to five wins every weekend and they have .5 kds.
I can't carry flawless but I can get the armor 😎
A few matchs we had less then 10% chance of winning.

I tried it maybe 2 or 3 times in Y1. Now you have to realize something. Just because Bungie SAYS it is not for casual players.. doesn't mean it isn't. What Bungie is actually saying is "We created this, and instead of optimizing it we will leave it shitty and claim it is only for the people who overlook how shitty it is." Just so happens that the people overlooking the shit don't care about the shit because they are adept at playing in shitty conditions. And combine that with the egos of young 20-somethings who consider streaming a viable long term source of income, well.. you've created a wall Bungie. A wall of narcissists that Trump could take notes from. TLDR - a created effect. Basically if you complain about trials, people who disagree put you in the casual box and your argument is rendered null by the community. This effectively allows Bungie to straight up ignore player feedback, as it appears the community of "real" trials players is content.

          • A high KD minimum requirement is a great idea! I think it would actually filter out a lot of those cheating scrubs that DOS everyone else to get wins (Example The ones who have a 2000 ELO week to week, but also have a .2 KD.) I also think it would reduce the paid carries. Can't be carried if you don't have the skills in the first place. Lastly, it may actually give people incentive to improve their game; and allow for someone who has worked hard for their KD, to have pride in actually qualifying for trials. It would not just be about the lighthouse like it is today. GG guardian

            • because k.d is a number, some people could be average or amazing and have a low k.d because: A: they helped there friends with lots of exotic quests, or they helped there friends with raids, i know i suck but i got 8-0 4-4, and i haven't bothered with trials since they messed up pvp

            • Trials is like an FM radio station... if you don't like what's on it.... change the station. If you like it stay there. No reason to keep people from playing it. Anyone who bought the game can participate.

              • I think that Trials was intended to----by design----to rewards strong players for beating up on weak players. (Since the odds of anyone winning 9 games in a row when facing competition of equal skill is about one in a thousand) So the intention was not for average players to win....but to be the cannon fodder at the lower rounds of play that better players step on in their march to the Lighthouse. Bottomline? Trials was broken from the Cradle...and the best thing that people can do right now is to simply stop playing it. Until Bungie comes up with something more fair and better designed for compeititive play.

Bungie already said the lighthouse and its loot isn't meant for the average people. They created loot to be worn and used by only the best pvp players not the average players. They created loot for the top 1% to be special but everyone else should stay average in their average gear and average loot. Although the only thing that stands out are their pretty looking ornaments and guns. Bungie wants the hardcore pvp players to stand out among the entire Destiny community as being the best in Destiny. Can you see them NOW? Good! You're meant to! Bungie made it that way. Side note: They don't offer a pve counterpart because they hold pvp to a higher standard than pve that's why they made the raids more easier or accessible by making it super short. WoTM. Do you "get" Bungie now?!!

I do think they need to change trials somehow. It has gotten stale. (I have been flawless 61 times). I think changing it up like they did for halloween but in a different way is much needed change.

                      • Bungie is wrong. Even average players can go flawless. Yes you do need skill. For me it's sniping. I live for that first snipe. If not then I go for those rez snipes or rely on team shooting. I can hold my own in a 1v1 sometime even a 1v3. But I rely mostly on my team. You are only as good as your team. Trials is team work, communication, and player to ur strategy. Don't ever get discouraged. There will always be a better team or player. When you loose learn from that. Average players can go flawless.

                            • According to destinytracker.com, my overall k/d is 1.19, which puts me in the top 18%. If only 18% of the population is above me, I imagine very few people would have access to trials if you had to have over a 1.5 k/d

                            • it's just like the hard raid. if you practice, find the right team and keep at it, you will get the loot even if you are not particularly good. with all the boons (which are cheap now thanks to motes for passage coins) you can get armor with 3 wins and 3 losses. that's a 50% win ratio you can get a weapon with 5 wins 3 losses which is 62% win ratio. sure they may not have the same cool skins as the flawless gear, but they are the same weapons.

                                      • I think the major problem with Trials is the fact that it is only one game mode, elimination. If Bungie added other modes like a 3v3 capture mode or even a 1v1 elimination game mode (all new modes could keep the 9 win rule and the modes could change weekly). The problem is that the small percentage of people who make it to the lighthouse weekly have become so good at the ONE game mode that they are almost unbeatable to the average person, but by changing it up it may compliment different play styles and it would be more inviting for more players.
