Shotguns are not the biggest problem. Stop complaining about them.
I'll tell you what is a problem. Shaders. They are op and have been untouched since the game was released.
For example, Glowhoo gives a huge advantage in PvP. It's so bright that I get blinded.
Oh, don't even get me started on Broadsword. It makes people invisible, so op.
It's a camo shader if you don't know.
Also, there are so many players abusing the mechanic that allows you to change shaders mid-game. At first they have Achilles, then Cleopatra AK, then Burnt Mashmellow, and so on...It's absolutely ridiculous as they are essentially adopting a whole new identity, meaning that I don't recognise them as an enemy. Oh, and don't even get me started on the mechanic that allows you to change GEAR mid-game.
Potential nerfs that are NECESSARY:
Also, these nerfs will apply to PvE.
-Remove Glowhoo.
-Shaders can no longer be changed mid-game.
-Tripmine damage nerfed by 110%.
-Alpha Team can only wear blue shaders.
-Firebolt radius reduced by 67.78%.
Bravo Team can only wear orange shaders.
-Fusion Rifle charge rate doubled.
Buff:
-Auto Rifles will be given a damage buff by 00.034% (you're welcome).
I know you will all agree with me because shaders are a rising problem that have not been sufficiently dealt with yet.
