Weapon Balancing isn't needed and if it's such and issue, do this...
Weapon's balancing has been the games constant buzz-kill. Nowadays, I don't have a favorite weapon... They all seem boring to me. Honestly, if true weapons' balance is something Bungie wants in PVP, just force everyone to use the same exact, boring weapon. That's 100% balance. You could even force everyone to wear the same exact boring armor = 100% balance. You could even force everyone to have the exact same stats, perks, class, whatever, that's 100% balance... And we would still have the weaker players getting killed by more skilled players. So what. That's life Bungie. The idea of "participation medals" and "everyone wins" structure produces weaker Guardians and weak people. It teaches people to complain to change the system/rules rather than try and improve one's own skill or in the case of an OP weapon, just go get that weapon and start using it!!!
Weapons' balance equals boring weapons and wasted development effort killing something that most people enjoy (i.e. a few OP weapons that give people something to strive after!!!!!) The game is boring now. If all the weapons are the same, what's the point of chasing any weapons?
And by the way, the game organically balances the weapons. If people get killed by the Thorn because it's OP, guess what... More and more people start using the Thorn until most everyone has the Thorn and guess what - it's balanced if we are all using the same weapon!!!
But for goodness sake, leave the PVE stuff out of it. All the PVP balancing garbage negatively affects the PVE experience as well. Are you trying to make the game horrible or is it just a byproduct of misguided leadership? STOP WEAPONS BALANCING PLEASE. And if you must, leave it out of PVE.
Rant done.
