Time to kill in y1 on paper was .7 to 1.0
Time to kill now is .7 to 1.0
What's the difference?
CONSISTENCY!
Don't you guys want consitency? Autos could use a buff along with this.
Same with shotguns or snipers. The only difference was consistency.
Now can we bump this post? Let's have people see this! Also I know last word killed .22, that was with hip fire, and it's only 1 weapon, and you had to land 2 crits in hip fire which is hard.
Edit 1: Obviously things would be brought to a more balanced state. I'm just talking about bringing every weapon to a more consistent state. Obviously not exactly like y1. I was jsut pointing something out. Also I don't know where some people are get it going their info on ttk's, I'm getting mine from tests and reddit, and common sense.

No just no Who enjoyed thorn and TLW ruling pvp, who enjoyed vex who enjoyed all of that op bs
just no
If that would to ever happen then bungie would need to get rid of these forums and stop listening to cry baby's. The sooner these forums go the better the game will be..... truth hurts. Bungie needs to take back control of their game and stop listening to so called top dog streamers and youtubers that ruin the game for the rest of us. im sick of bungie treating them as if they're higher in society than the rest of us pffffft whatever. The sooner bungie stops being a push over and brainwashed the better the game will become and the company overall. Drops mic.

No the time to kill ismt the same stop makint this cod

Pvp in y1 was amazingand funny

While the intention is good and it was well written I'm very glad the general feedback for you is negative (or at least countering you statements). To me this is just another example of someone not really looking at the situation (past or present) at a high enough level to really see things clearly. Y1 was not balanced in any way shape or form. It just felt powerful becsuse there was no pvp balance. Most weapons were engineered for pve and in Y1 pve weapons were strong. It wasn't until more than half a year in they started to "balance for pvp" and it was mainly nerfs. I would say it took them 2 more tunings (another year?) for them to have anything resembling pvp balance but that still left snipers mainly untouched. Now here we are. I'm not going to sit here and day that "most" primaries could use a boost but we don't need what we had in Y1.
-
I agree buff primaries
-
Its debatable I mean we all need buffs right now mode than anything but certainly not wanting a hardcore meta again. I need balance.
-
Just to let you know, you didn't need to hip fire with Last Word to proc the bonus damage. Thats why it was so effective.
-
Everyone watch theCammyCakes vids on balancing, great content, good ideas, truthful guy who speaks his mind. A1 youtuber
-
I would not mind this
-
All the bad players cried for nerfs to begin with. It'll just happen again.
-
Perks really shouldn't have as big of impact on weapons as they do. The difference between a HC with max range and average range should be that big or a DoP with low stability should still be usable. Perks should compliment what the player can't do well.
-
I remember all the complaints in year 1 and now everyone wants it back that way. Funny how that works if you ask me. People complain for things to be nerfed, bungie does it, then people want it back the way it was. I would only want the connection to be better. Before SBMM, your shots would land more consistently. Simply because it was all connection based and with that came a lot less of this favoring laggy players.
-
Ever asked how many people are from year one, year two and just jumped on? I'm very interested in knowing
-
Time to kill changes due to player skill and connection.

year one was amazing

There are a lot of people talking about Y1 vs Y2 primary performance when it comes to PVP Balancing. I understand that people don't want this game to become a quick-twitch shooter like CoD, and they intended to try to slow down time to kill in Y2 to make the game a little more like Halo where it is much harder to insta-kill someone. However, weakening the primaries in order to accomplish this goal has resulted in people using secondary/special weapons as a primary, as the movement speed/evasive action guardians can take make it very difficult to kill people with a primary weapon (especially a primary like an AR). IMO, the game was better when more and more people relied on their primary weapon because they were stronger and more reliable - so you didn't feel compelled to use the special or run the special ammo boxes in order to compete. Sure, this means ttk's would have to be reduced down to Y1 levels again, but I don't think the game was "quick twitch" like other shooters. It certainly wasn't halo either - it was somewhere in between, which IMO, was a pretty good spot.
-
Consistency is great, but Y1 was most certainly not a good example of that.
-
It looks like it say "7 simple explanations(...)"
-
Yep I agree, but TLW time to kill was 0.26 with hip fire actually
-
The game has evolved in terms of consistency, but in terms of theoretical ttk most guns kill between .8 to 1.2 range. TLW with headshots kills in .53 seconds currently.
-
So, wrong. Y1 was the fastest kill times with most nightmare inducing weapons.
seems coffee cup warnings will stay...
Edited by Scrub: 1/4/2017 7:43:41 PMIt certainly does need brought back to year 1 levels and a majority of people seem to agree. But Bungie has a history of baiting customers along with a carrot. An example would be how tons of people ask for certain weapons, and they could quickly satisfy the customers requests and deliver the content, but they obviously, intentionally hold out on it until a DLC or large update to use it as the bait to bring customers back. When in reality, they could have kept the playerbase from dropping the whole time by simply delivering the content upon mass request. So people give up, put the game away and come back for the large updates to see the "new" weapon. And that's probably the whole reason they left guns behind, to use them as bait later on to bring back players as soon as the playerbase starts to dwindle. So we can safely assume, all requests to fix destiny and whatever content or changes we want to see WILL be used as bait for Destiny 2, there wont ever be dedicated servers for Destiny 1 because they want to use it as a selling point in the next instalment. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will advertise the hell out of Dedicated Servers for Destiny2 because everyone wants them. Videos will also probably show better TTK's. It's a good system they have in place in their eyes for marketing but it pisses customers off really bad, so people either leave the game like i did, or threaten to. They seriously need to change that if they want to improve customer satisfaction. Taking weapons away and then using them as bait is just cheap as F$#%...Not giving us servers to use that as bait for D2 is also sleezy. Just leaving the game in ruins so they can make the next one look better is what they're aiming for.
-
I have no idea where you're pulling those TTKs but they aren't even close to what the year 1 levels were. Did you even use the Vex at its best? How about the Suros Regime? Auto Rifles in general were better than what you're claiming they were. These people begging to return to the year 1 meta were the same people crying about the dominance of Suros Regime and then the dominance of Last Word and the Thorn. I swear you people have no idea what you want and it delights me to know that none of you will ever have created control over this game. /thread

Edited by Kone19ps: 1/4/2017 2:30:28 PMThorn was 0.4, last word 0.22, messenger 0.6. Currently it's 1.0-0.8. Your comparison is just wrong
-
I'm sorry but this isn't specific at all. Could you give me examples of what you would consider consistent? Anyways happy new year guardian.
