So there we go. Dark Souls III wins GotY, while Overwatch gets a pretty clean sweep of plenty of other titles and Uncharted 4 grabs the Playstation game. Not hugely surprising. But we'll wait and see what the BAFTAs bring us.

The witcher 3, dark souls 3 and titanfall 2 are the only games here that are even worth a mention, everything else was just pure shit or a major disappointment.

I'm surprised Overwatch won that many. I didn't think there was anything special about it and got bored very quickly. Fair play though. It's obviously extremely popular and well thought of.

Blood & Wine is simply amazing and CD continues to be a beacon of hope for gamers and an example to other studios/ publishers ( looking at you Activision. You have surpassed EA and amazingly have become even worse. ) Glad to see critics choice went to Titanfall 2. Hope gamers wake up and realize they are missing something special. My only disappointment is Inside not winning something. Firewatch is good but Inside was an experience. Congrats to DS3 and it's fans. It's not my cup of tea but I get why people like it and the monster design is incredible.

I'd like to have seen Doom get some love in there but over all seems pretty accurate. Overwatch definitely deserves its awards and expected it to get ultimate game of the year as well.

Fallout 4: uninspired rendition of the same theme, a slew of random retro-themed tunes, and myriad samey, muffled weapon sounds? They just had to give it an award for something, I guess.

I'd definitely say there are more original games out there, overcooked, Virginia, The witness, are all more original than Overwatch IMO. Although I guess if we're taking original as "new IP" and not unique gameplay it could win. Still though I would be picked an indie game for that one as well. And I would have like to see Inside get the indie award but firewatch was good a pick too.

How is Pokemon GO innovative? There was literally a game just like it before it came out just didn't have Pokemon slapped on it. They really made a mess out of these awards this year. Glad to see Dark Souls 3 got the top award though.
