This would be a great addition to the game if it was added. Literally every other armour and weapon slot can be filled with strike loot, except these two. I even have a suggestion on where they could be implemented. As far as I'm aware, all strikes in the game can drop two items, except for Cerberus Vae III and The Blighted Chalice, with each strike only having one drop. Why not add boots to one strike and a chest piece to the other? This would ensure that all gear slots can be improved with strike loot, and it would bring these two strikes in line with all other strikes that have multiple drops.
