Undo Thorn Range Nerf

I'm not the only one that feels this nerf came from nowhere. It was in a good place after the DoT nerf then, nerf out of the blue, it's garbage. Bungia has got to stop bring exotics forward and nerfing them into the ground. What's the point of making or updating a weapon nobody wants to use. I was so excited to see Thorn coming back. Buff it Bungie, fix all the exotic weapons you've made useless, it's not like you're making any good new exotics...

  • They nerfed it because it's cancer in PvP. I'd get shot once with that thing and it would sap half my health, which is a clear advantage, despite Bungie's overhyped "balance" system in the PvP. Even with the nerf, I still believe it should be at least disabled in PvP combat. Having the already-intense damage of a hand cannon plus a life drain buff makes it ridiculous. I can have the skill for hit-and-runs, but oh, a single hit with that thing screws me over for whatever encounter I'll have with another opponent. The gun is cancer to its targets, literally.

      Their reasoning is f'n stupid... "best in class range" and "tracking enemies via Dot".. The DoT ticks so fast now it's almost instant, I can't tell you the last time I tracked somebody using the DoT. I wish they would have just left it year 1 values so it wouldn't have been nerfed. Now they created another ghost bullet machine like Hawkmoon if you are more than 5 feet away. I did some testing on it a last week or so and the damage drop-off was horendous, hitting for a mere 43 critical damage while Palindrome hit for 68 at distance...that's if the round even registered at all, only 2 out of 5 critical shots registered, another counted as a body shot when it was critical and the other 2...yeah, ghost bullets.

        It doesn't bother me that they nerfed Thorn. Their reasoning is retarded to me. "Thorn has too much range and we dont want everyone using it" *Nerfs Thorn's range by 25%* *Introduces god rolled Palindrome with possibly the highest range of any Hand Cannon in the game available to everyone*. Logic.

          "We want our crutch back bungie" How about use a legendary hand cannon, they're all 100 percent better than thorn Edit: for the intellectually less superior Bad ju ju, red death and NTTE should be better than hawksaw, grasp, clever dragon right? Well they aren't autos are in an okay spot right now but the high rate of fire low impact tier still eats all exotic autos alive Scouts are the only weapons that have decent exotics right now So why don't we make this a "exotics are shit" post instead everyone's asking for that one crutch If you don't see it now I can't make it any clearer

          • Maybe we can give it at least like 10 or 15% though since it did have high range. Plus buff the dot damage in pve by like 15%. On its own it's super weak

                    • Nah range is fine. Its no longer meant to be a freaking pulse-range poison-dart long range cannon. Ive had a lot of fun spam firing the gun and using it in cqc instead of tlw. The dot tho... Holy shit it does almost nothing. Like literally no damage. The only good thing about it is it pulls people out of a fire fight, and that people will literally run away because thorn.

                        Nope. Keep it the way it is. Nobody uses it now. And that's how it should be. Now if we could just do the same to shotguns, the game would be fun again
